I'm helping organise a 30th in Edinburgh soon and looking for any good suggestions in Leith / Central Edinburgh. The last time I organised a do like this was about seven years ago so I'm a bit off the ball!

Options I've looked at so far are Revolution Bar on Chambers Street (seems to be free although not sure if they stick a minimum bar spend on that) and Iso Bar in Leith (minimum spend £350).

Any other good suggestions that people have used recently? I'd anticipate about 20-30 attendees and more of a pub than club crowd...

Be wary of Revolution as it is essentially a club and, to the best of my knowledge, they will only give you exclusive access to one of the private areas for a fairly hefty fee.

The first pub that springs to mind is Mezz at the bottom of Broughton St. They higher out their upper level for free as long as you bring a min of 20 people I think. Depending on numbers I think they also lay on free food.

What about Electric Circus, just behind the Waverley on Market Street? It was supposed to open last Christmas, with various private rooms where you could do karaoke, play PS3/Xbox etc. Never heard much more about it but you could try googling it?!?
