Can't believe the fawning reviews this yawnfest has gotten. A Harvard buddy movie (think Trainspotting without the drugs or Football Factory without the violence but for Yank toffs with computers.) it's crisp and pacy enough but soon degenerates into a Grisham for TV afternoon movie.

A waste if the medium of film to show nerds sitting at computers - it's doesn't make for good drama.

Doesn't sound promising. Think I will wait until the release next year of ''hibs.net - The Movie.'' Anybody heard anything about the casting yet?

I heard the admins were all fighting over the royalties so likely to never happen. Bunch of pricks TBH:wink:

I heard a certain ex-Yam centre forward auditioned for the part of Marinello59, but was rejected for not being realistic enough. :agree:

Well, with David Fincher directing it, I'm inclined to see it no matter how bad the plot potentially sounds.

It's really easy to oversimplify any movie to make it sound bad -

Requiem for a Dream - a movie about how drug use and addiction are bad, how original.
American History X - racism is bad, never seen that before.

Just because the most obvious themes in a movie are boring/typical/uncreative doesn't mean we can't enjoy them or find some kind of deeper meaning in them.

Went on Sat nite - thought it was excellent personally, with some great performances especially Eisenburg

Really enjoyed it. Was extremely well-acted by all.
Maybe it's just a generational thing that made you dislike it DBS. Facebook ain't for the oldies so much.:duck:

I don't have FaceBook - being an oldie - but I still enjoyed it

Went to see this last night and couldn't disagree with you more DBS.

The movie is sharp, well directed and brilliantly acted - if Jesse Eisenburg isn't nominated for the Oscar, I'll be surprised.

Nice to see that they actually filmed on the Harvard campus - for anyone who ever heads over to the Boston area, be sure to pop along to Cambridge and check out the campus - it's a beautiful place!

Personally thought it was brilliant. A lecturer at uni told me to go as I'm doing Web Design. He said it could 'Inspire us'. It didnt really work the way he planned, however I enjoyed the film :greengrin

Definitely worth seeing.

Well acted, a very intriguing story and remarkably fast paced.
