I've gone for Butcher. I did consider wee Russel for a second then thought, nah, he'd be in the front of the queue with the guys in George Street on a Saturday night. :greengrin

Not really in the running but Allan Irvine, Sheff Wed manager would be a good shout.
They are in financial difficulty at the moment so he may be tempted away.

If he'd be willing to return then I'd want Mogga back!

Has to be Scala for me. One look at his CV and surely Petrie would do what it takes to get him. If Scala is genuinly interested in the job I really don't think anyone else should be considered.
Steve Clarke for me,,, with pat Niven as his no2
Bur someone has shot that down already
SC has worked under a few good managers
but sometimes it does not work when stepping up
Terry butcher has got the experience,,
I was not at ER for the Inverness game
so I can't comment how his team played
Maybe others could answer this

Scala for me. After that would probably McInnes but cant see us paying compo for him.
Steve Clarkes never been a manager, not saying he wouldnt be a success but theres no way of knowing how he will cope with stepping up.

I've plumped for Scala on the grounds that we've tried a number of promising young managers with limited success and less stability - we could do with a talented someone who has also been around the block and got the T-shirt. Scala ticks all these boxes for me.
TBH though I havny got a scoobie - I was right behind the appointment of Hughes and it didn't work out in the end - so I obviously don't have the magic finger when it comes to pointing out the right man for the job :boo hoo:
