I'm starting to think that Yogi writes the match reports on the main site.

"Hibernian crashed to a disappointing defeat at McDiarmid Park with St Johnstone clinching victory courtesy of a stoppage time goal from Marcus Haber, although the scoreline did not paint an accurate portrait of the game.
The home side took the lead after substitute Liam Craig directed a thumping header past Mark Brown after the visitors had failed to defend a corner.
Before that, Brown produced a tremendous reflex save on the 29-minute mark to push Michael Duberry's powerful header onto the bar to keep the scoreline intact at McDiarmid Park.
At the other end, Hibernian created chances for David Wotherspoon and Colin Nish, but home keeper Peter Enckelman was never seriousy tested.
In rainy Perth, Hibernian weathered an early storm of Saints' attacks with Sol Bamba, Francis Dickoh and Brown coping well while Derek Riordan had an early chance at the other end of the pitch on the six-minute mark.
Liam Miller's searching cross found Riordan at the back-post, but he couldn't control his volleyed effort which blazed wide of the target."

So, going by that, Saints had forced our keeper into a great save and scored twice but we never seriously tested their keeper. So how does the scoreline not reflect the match?

"the scoreline did not paint an accurate portrait of the game."

Well from my seat it certainly did. It would have been a complete travesty if we'd got anything out of that pitiful display.

First half - they hit bar, Parkin should have had a stonewaller after having his shirt pulled, few dangerous crosses into the box. We had a skewed shot from DW and a weak Nish header wide

Second half - we barely got into their box, Riordan with a decent chance is all I can remember (and a Bamba back header with no Hibs player in the box). They had a few corners, great first goal, cool finish second, and were in our half throughout.

Aye Hibs...........it doesn't paint an accurate picture, we should have been beaten 5-1 again.

No, they clinched victory as soon as they scored.
This current Hibs team is so woeful with an totally inept buffoon leading the way.

:agree::agree:

Perhaps the only bit of that Id disagree with is that I dont think we deserved to lose 5-1. We didnt merit a goal.

The score wasn't an accurate reflection of the game because from where I was watching it, it was mostly Saints possession and they always looked the far more likely team to stick away their chances today. We're lucky it was only the two we lost by.

Hibs were hopeless. The players were at each other because they didn't know where they were supposed to be positioned. Most of them seemed afraid to take on the Saints players - we tried to pass around them instead of taking them on and drawing them in. We never looked like scoring at all.

It's fair to say that all in all, Hibs were absolutely rubbish today and look increasingly every week like a team destined for a relegation dogfight with the giants of St Mirren and Hamilton.

What is so frustrating is despite how people berate them, are players are so much better than the performances and results they are producing.

Also noticed Hughes spent most of the match hiding in the dugout. Please, Petrie, put this man out of his misery.
