Its sad he is the only Hibbie in the squad. What has happened to our much vaunted conveyor belt of talent?

Hibs have never been well represented in the Scotland squads from 14's to 19's. Even in the day of Thomson, Brown, O'Connor etc for some reason there are always 4 o 5 each from Celtic/Rangers, 3/4 from Hearts and a couple from Dundee Utd and Aberdeen.

And to back this up:

http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/scottish_fa_news.cfm?page=128&newsCategoryID=1&newsID=6536 - SIX players from the same school....St Ninians and none from Edinburgh or the Lothians

http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/scottish_fa_news.cfm?page=2020&newsCategoryID=1&newsID=6506

http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/scottish_fa_news.cfm?page=2045&newsCategoryID=1&newsID=6512

From 15's to 19s there are not any Hibs players deemed good enough to get into the initial squad lists

I've edited that for you :greengrin

A Victory Shield squad of 17 and only 6 from outside Glasgow. It just goes to prove that there is absolutely no bias towards Glasgow teams.

wondered that myself - this may explain it though:-

not sure if its a good thing or bad thing ... at least someone's trying something (not all doom and gloom) ... will be going along to see how the team does.

Hopefully they'll peak at the right age - most youngsters that look good at 16 or 17 are playing for Berwick (no offense Berwick!) by the time they are 20.

Hopefully we'll get another batch coming through like the 2004 lot soon.
