Sorry to change the subject back to football after that exciting double-header, but what about the Hibernian side versus ICT?
Hogg, Nish and Rankin all certain to start, in my opinion, just fill in the gaps around those first picks.

If he continues with those he needs the sack whether I've supported him up until now or not!
It should be:
Brown
Hart Dickoh Bamba Grounds
De Graaf McBride Miller
Wotherspoon Duffy Riordan

Nish will start and probably score.
He generally scores against ICT, both for Killie and Hibs.

Do you think he will just chuck all the new boys straight in though, or try to give them all 20 minutes each etc and make sure there match fit?
I'd probably go the same but play riordan in behind duffy and nish up front and drop wotherspoon for a game as I think he needs a couple of games out the team.
Yeah i know Nish, but with riordan just behind him being a general menace and duffy pushing on it might just be effective.

I know it's immensely unfashionable these days, but I would love to see us in a 3-5-2. No point going with any less than 5 in midfield as ICT will have that many, but I also don't believe that we have anyone capable of playing as a lone striker. I would imagine that ICT's attacking ambitions will be be fairly modest, even taking into account their recent win at Tannadice - so hopefully 3 CHs with the pace of Bamba and Stephens at the back should work, ably protected by McBride and Miller (at times), with mobile wing backs contributing to attack and defence in equal measure. Would also be intrigued to see how Nish and Deek would link up as a partnership.

I like that line up, with duffy on the bench if nish does the usual bambi act.

Everyone wants him in the team straight away, but has anyone actually seen Jonathan Grounds play?
He was playing central defence for Norwich and can't get a game for Middlesbrough anywhere.
Just a thought.

I put him in because I prefer Hanlon at centre half and Murray's lack of pace was getting badly exposed the last few months of last season. Probably not the best reason to put in someone that I've never seen play, but I would give him a chance.

He's a loan signing that we would seem to have no chance of signing permanently, and can play in a position that has been a problem for us. I'll be immensely surprised if Grounds doesn't play regularly for us.
Given the length of the loan, the plan is surely to play him until Booth comes back to us.

Yep, this is a pivotal time in Nish's Hibs career, and I think he deserves a chance to play in his best role - his defensive ability at set pieces (where we always look vulnerable) is also a bonus, he wins far more headers in our final third than he ever does in the opposition's.
Give him a start with Duffy ready to step in with different attributes if things don't work out.

Riordan (free role)

Would love to see Bamba in midfield getting stuck into winning the ball back and protecting the back four, with Spoony and Galbraith running the wide areas. Deek with a free role linking up with Miller and Duffy and unleashing shots from all angles!

I agree he probably will, but we can hope at some point he realises that playing the same players week in week out is what has got us into the shocking run of home form we are in......:dunno:

Think the U21's will be rested for Saturday and that Grounds and Duffy, of the newcomers, will defo start. Dickoh will be on the bench and may sub for Hogg at some point.

Nish in the hole, Duffy on the last shoulder. Not saying I like it, but I think that's how he'll play it. Especially as stephens, wotherspoon and hanlon have all been away on u21 duty, so have missed out on training with the new boys.

Having not seen any of the new guys play and having no idea as to their fitness it's a bit of a stab in the dark really.
However, having signed two big centre halfs over the summer I'd like to see Hogg bumped to the bench - he's turned in far too many unconvincing displays over the last year or so and I'd like to see Dicko given his chance assuming he's fit.
As for Grounds, I think he may have to bide his time for a bit assuming Murray's returning from suspension.
Duffy should make an appearance - maybe off the bench for his debut though - pacy impact player and all that.
So - I'd expect to see something like the following:
--------------Brown------------------
Hart------Dickoh----Bamba----Murray
----------McBride---------------------
--------------------Miller---------------
De Graff---------------------Galbraith
-------Nish------------Riordan--------
With Duffy, Wotherspoon, Rankin, Hogg and Grounds as options to come off the bench that has the makings of a pretty good side IMO.

A Hanlon Bamba centre back combination is good enough for me, why people keep putting Stephens ahead of Paul is bizzare to me, Hanlon has real potential, and has done well when played at Centre Back, and his weakness in the air is countered by Bamba.

Hard introduction to the league for Grounds with Riordan in front of him. Would not fancy that much, would rather see him in midfield, and Riordan up front as a striker for the first time since yogi arrived!
