On a lighter note to some of the recent threads, the highlight of the Fringe for me this year had to be Mike Maran & Philiip Contini's "Italia and Caledonia", a must for anyone of Scots-Italian heritage:

The Hibees get a mention, in particular the infamous European tie with AS Roma. Phillip Contini made reference to a place on Easter Road where the Hibs' side of the 1960's would socialise - an Italian cafe I'm sure went by the name of "Domenico's Cafe".

I didn't get a chance to discuss the whereabouts of this cafe with Phillip at the end of the show, so I was wondering if any older Hibby can remember it?

There is a Domenico's Cafe still around, just off Commercial Street in Leith. No idea what the origins are or if its the same one......great place to eat though!

Fairly recent tho', so not the "cafe in Easter Road" in the 60's--especially as it's in Commercial Street.
Used to be a nice wee pub called Pearson's, whose customers seemed to be mostly Mr. Pearson's pals! Looked quite big when you went in until you realised there was a massive mirror on the back wall.
