They are getting all worked up because Hartley claimed Aberdeen are the only club outside the old firm who can take 5000 fans to an away game. Jambos are claiming that Hearts regularly do this.

They cant even take 5000 fans to a home game :faf::

It indicates what their core support is taking away the £20 season ticket holders who are counted as attending regardless of whether they go or not.

The last time we had sub-5000 was against Alloa in a League Cup tie in 1993.

But then we wouldn't have had the excuse of preparing for a big Champions League game at the time :greengrin

are there any attendees raging at those that didn't turn up?

i fnot, you would think they are reasonablyhappy with the attendance which in turn might suggest the crowd figure is indeed understated.

looking forward to some Evening News pics for a wee clue.

I'm surprised it was that many. There were loads of City fans (or general fans of the beautiful game who came along to watch:wink:) in good numbers sitting in the wooden shed, which was being roundly laughed at by most of the travelling support. A total **** hole, I heard one guy say.

Hearts looked ropey at the back and if City had a striker just with that bit extra, they might have actually had one or two. The fud fans were faithfully clapping Kyle's every lumbering touch. He's a big object to put in the box and bounce things off but he looks well off fitness. Their best player on the night was definitely Novikovas.

Stevie Dunn in the City goal pulled off some heroics to keep the score respectable and Alan Dempsie (formerly a hibby) put in an outstanding shift with the rest of the back line. The giant came on as well, which was worth seeing. City closed them down quite well, but there was a clear difference in fitness and pace towards the end.

Highlight of the night was Ian Black getting pelters off the City fans for being a "Caley b*****d".

If anyone takes a stroll over to brokeback just now they will see a thread about average attendances over the last 100 years. Fuds creaming themselves over the fact they have had a 'higher average attendance than Aberdeen 70% of the time' and statements that Hibs having the highest recorded crowd in Edinurgh for a football match is misleading because 'at least 30 000 of the 61 000 there were Hearts fans'. There also seems a bit of bewilderment that Hibs are the only club to have an average attendance over 30 000 for a sseason outwith the OF.

Maybe you should concentrate on your own (true) attendances in this era when you can't twist the figures you shower of yam fuds.

There's also another clown over there who has posted this load of Tom Kite.

I know hibs are not in as much debt as us, but Iv been wondering how they thought it would be a viable option to upgrade a stand? They never have a full ground, even at home Derby games and against Rangers and Celtic. So how do the expect to fund the running costs of a brand new stand if they are not going to be filling it regularly.

I was watching the highlights of the rangers game, and to be fair you cant see much of the stands, but from what you can see, the attendance towards the front few rows looked appalling.

Your thoughts?

With crowds almost soaring to 5000, Hearts could always borrow Falkirk's gazebo since they're not using it anymore.

Would save an absolute fortune compared to a £51m mega stand.

An embarrassing stat for the City Of Edinburgh and Scottish football.

It's time the establishment pulled the plug on these jokers. Edinburgh would thrive better with one football team that would be able to comepete with the old firm.

I propose the weaker of the 2 Edinburgh clubs (HMFC), and the one with less roots in the capital (Lithuanian board, owner, players, etc) should fold, or relocate elsewhere.

Hearts should play in the Lithuanian league where they may have a chance of some success, and their decrepit stadium would be state of the art, causing less embarrassment to their fans. If Cardiff and Swansea can play in the English league then why not ?

Very interesting reading.

I recall several of those matches. Easter Road didn't look quite as empty then due to restricted capacity (apart from the away end). Certainly getting in excess of 5,000 when St Johnstone were visiting was a major achievement back then.

People moan about 10,000 crowds now and cite it as evidence that Scottish Football is doomed. Put in context with the crowds of the early 1990s it looks very good.

So ****ing what !!!..pish crowd pish team ..pish ground ..

Come back when yer good enough ...:bye:

Mare like come back when your 51 million seater main stand is built, And your world cup stars are gracing Tiny every week.. and you have a 60 thousand seater stadium..And you have won the CL...And you are splitting the old firm on a regular basis..etc etc...blah blah ****ing blahh..

The difference is we havent been blowing our own trumpet about what we are gonna do,We go about our business the hibs way/The class way because that what we have, 'Class'.

Under 5 thousand last night is utterly pathetic! Cringeworthy infact, For a team that harp on and on and on about being the big team, Last nights crowd was a smack in the puss for the so called Hearts fans.

Hibernian = Do our business in the correct manner and ooze class withoust spouting out nonsense left right and centre.

Hearts= They really are the laughing stock of Scottish football, That NO ONE can deny, Romanov has promised them the world but in reality its all pipe dreams promised,They reek of 2nd class, AND yet they STILL believe this trumpet is there life saviour.

Hearts, Will FOREVER be in Hibernian's shadow.

FACT.

So what we've established here is that Hearts have set Edinburgh football back almost 20 years.

Disgraceful, and we can only hope Hibs increased attendances in Scotland's best footballing arena mean the effects of the dwindling Tynecastle population are limited.

Having seen Easter Road on the telly on Sunday I imagine most of them were too embarrassed to set foot back inside Tynie.

Thanks for the confirmation BTW. The worst crowd in Edinburgh in seventeen years, and Hertz worst home crowd for twenty seven years. And all in the season where the prodigal son has returned as manager and you're apparently going to skooosh third and challenge the OF.

Big teams only open two stands.

Long live the RRevolution :faf:

Hearts fans must be seriously cringing at seeing our new stand on tv then thinking of there horrific out of date main stand (can we even call it that?).

Any Jumbo that says they are not embarrassed by there main stand and are not jelous by our stadium are either two faced or stupid, Well in actuall fact both sum up the Pink cretins beutifully.

Pink crumbling main stand :hilarious

No quite true.

Almondvale stadium Livingston opened around October 1995. Prior to that Livingson played a few matches at Meadowbank. No doubt they would have probably had the usual 100-150 plus visiting support that Meadowbank Thistle previously enjoyed.

So it it the worst home crowd in Edinburgh for 15 years.

You will find that they are all accurate.

I was present at too many of them.

Hibs had only a handful o season ticket holders back then and a lot of regualrs used to pick their matches. If it was against the likes of St Mirren or St Johnstone and if the day was very wet or very cold, Hibs would be lucky to get much above 4,000.
