The product of too much alcohol yesterday and not enough sleep today!

How about:

Regional leagues all around Britain

These would be the lower-level teams and would keep their operating costs down as most of the ties would be more local to them. Ties would have more local derby relevance too so hopefully maximise their potential crowd-wise. Ditto for their potential to earn cash from local advertising.

From here there would be promotion to [and relegation from]... [dunno - possibly play-offs involved? discuss]

Scottish 'Division 2' / English 'Division 2'

Probably around 18 teams in each - playing each other twice a season - 1 home, 1 away obviously.

Promotion/Relegation from/to this from a single British 'Superleague'

Again, 18 teams - 36 games.

From there to the Champions League as at present.

FA and League cups etc stay as at present in both Scotland and England. Perhaps winners of these could go through to Europa League qualifying instead of the present daftness that almost half the SPL can 'qualify for Europe'

TV money? Would have to be split far more evenly and ideally structured so that the lower and regional leagues got a fair share of this alongside the top leagues that were actually generating the TV money. X amount per league perhaps and this then split evenly across all teams. None of this parachute payment pish either - firm rules in place for financial set-up within clubs. Again, discuss penalties non compliance?

Just think the present set-up needs overhauled completely and in such a way that it brings some geniunely new stuff to the table. Not saying that any or all of the above is right or even logistically possible, just wild thoughts running through ma heid!

Ah'm off to bed before I start spouting any more such pish! :greengrin

2-1 win for us tomorrow! GGTTH
