I was at school with Darren and Sandy.

Good player was Sandy but what a waste of a career through boozing. Played against him for Hutchison Vale many a time when he was at Salveson. His dad Malky was a right good spud, very supportive, and loved juvenile football. Great shame.

Sad news and although he never played many games for Hibs he always gave it everything for the jersey

RIP

How many games did he "play" for Hibs, I'm sure he was only a trialist and made the maximum of four appearances. Things were grim then.

He played 5 games, Pat Stanton signed him after a chance meeting in Princes Street.

Bit of a character, RIP Malky

Malky used to help with the training at Gracemount when I was about 16 playing with Kaimes United.
When he was with Ayr he took great delight in telling us young lads how he took the ball past John Brownlie before slotting it past Jim Herriot at one of the training sessions after Ayr beat Hibs 2 or 3 nil at Somerset Park the Saturday before.
He was really fast when we done quick sprints and I remember his legs were black and blue from some of the kicks he got. I think he played for Raith as well.
I actually went Tynie with a Hearts supporting mate when he got sent off for Hearts v Ayr when they got relegated.
Sad new indeed.

Very sad news. Remember Malky and Rab Prentice joining us for a game up at the Meadows after they retired, great days.

RIP Malky.
