Would be good, but if Rod's got the choice of paying Franck's air fare or Lawrie's bus fare then I know who I'd guess would be opening it.

Good point, garenteed it will be Lawrie as he will have a bus pass, not need to fork out anything :faf:

If he is indeed to make such a surprise appearance it would be wonderful to see the entire stadium given the opportunity to pay their respects to the man. I was at the small function in the Famous Five stand to say farewell to Sauzee in May 2002 and what a noise was generated!

Don't knock it - Sir Patrick of Stanton told me at the corporate once that that's one of the reasons his old dear suggested to go for Hibs as opposed to another team in Edinburgh, as the bus fares would be cheaper.....

Having sauzee there to cut the ribbon would have been one way of ensuring a sell out.

Did the website not mention they would announce something for the opening of the stand?

Thought this would've been done by now?!:dunno:

we still have to get a safety certificate before we can open it :cool2:

I'm pretty sure there is a specific disclaimer on all the tickets for this match :agree:

They were referring to a separately arranged opening event - not necessarily before the first league game.
