How many SPL goals did Colin Nish get for us last year?

Was it a lot less than Derek Riordan?

Someone told me that Nish is one of the all time top scorers in the SPL. That's rubbish, eh?

Without looking it up I think it was about half the amount Riordan got? Are you saying that's a good return for a striker compared to a midfielder? I'd have probably compared his goals vs Stokes' goals.

Is the guy that told you classing being in the top 10 list as an "all-time" top scorer?

Very true in that he has scored more goals than the players below him. But to find if a striker is good or not you should look at strike rate. Nish has been in the SPL for about 7 years and this is why he has scored more goals than some other striker. His strike rate however is about 1 goal every 4 games. Compare that with Stokes who is a goal every 1.7 games. Players like John Sutton have a better strike rate as well.

I have said in other threads along the same lines, when looking at how good s striker is and comparing them to others you cant look at total goals scored as that striker may have been in the SPL for a l lot longer than others.

You could look at top goal scorers per season. Nish has only been in the top 12 once in the last 10 years and that was when he was Kilmarnock.

Did he really? I thought Riordan had scored 17 or 18 last season.

2nd point’s not a point, it’s a question? I see it’s been answered above though. 4 more goals and he’s above Stevie Crawford.

Well, according to the SPL website, Nish scored 9, but Hibs have him recorded as scoring 10.

Deek is 13 on both. He did score in other competitions, though.

Why ignore competitions that do not suit your 'point'?
