Edinburgh Evening News tonight recognises people in several categories, including Best Hibs Fan 2010.

The Hibs winner has "had a season ticket for 6 years and has followed Hibs across Scotland and abroad to Blackpool"

Have I missed something in the News where nominations were maybe supported in a bit more detail ?

Sounds like thousands of us. Surely somebody more worthy would be someone old who has followed the team absolutely everywere, through thick and thin for X amount of years.

Must admit my thoughts were pretty similar, thats why I wondered if I had missed something that added a bit merit to the award

The awards are poor IMO, IIRC one of the final 5, was a two year old baby:confused:

Think it is a bit naive to run a best supporter award

If thats the case expect nominations for the Best Hibs Fan 2011 to include :

(1) I bought a Hibs Calendar in 2006
(2) I once got a number 1 bus down Easter Road
(3) My granny used to get Lemonade delivered by the Dunbar's Juice lorry

I nominate me as after every home game, I used to go to the player's entrance and ask Brian Hamilton's autograph. When he was signing, I used to tell him he was my favourite and he had a real hard shot.

How did he sign it ?

Was it Brian Hamilton or his name on the terracing "For ******s Sake Hamilton" ?

the article in the "News" is headed " Celebrating The Heroes Of Your City"

The word Hero looks at best a bit over the top

try the Edinburgh Evening News website, not a lot to the article : 29 year old Mum of 3, had a season ticket since 2004, follows Hibs all over Scotland and recently travelled "abroad", to ..........................Blackpool

What about me? I travel 2 hours on a bus to get to Aberdeen, then a train for 2hrs 50 mins (give or take) to get to Edinburgh just for a home game. I also go abroad when we are there. I follow the Hibs home and away, when im home from offshore of course (or does that hinder me?).

I would like to nominate my brother for "Best Hibs Fan 2011".

For 15 years now he has not missed one Hibs match report in the EEN. Even in the bleakest of winter mornings when there's been half an inch of snow he's still managed to get to his local newsagent to pick up the paper. He even listens to them on the radio whenever they are on.

That's dedication.
