RIP. One of the last great Scottish trade unionists. A socialist with a rare pragmatic streak and a genuinely humanitarian political thinker. Sadly his like may not be seen again.

Always reminded me of Burns' "A Mans A Man For A' That" An ordinary, common, working man but clever, insightful and articulate too. Wish we had more like him.
