I know this will probably get moved, but thought i would give people a heads up of this awful news and also to avoid the area if travelling to or from anywhere and travel past that way to take an alternate route.

Anyone travelling home through the Slateford area may want to take a look at this,

It's about 20 or 30 feet from my mums new flat. Used to be where the old Marco's bowing ally was. The police won't let her near her flat as it's now a "criminal investigation", pleanty of CID and men in white suits kicking about.

BBC website saying the kids did not die as a result of the explosion so sounds like something has happened. What a wee shame, hope the police find out what has happened.

Certainly sounds as if theres more to it if the Reporter from Reporting Scotland is anything to go by. Great shame for the wee ones whatever it was.

The woman obviously cracked under pressure.I heard on the radio, she had been on the run since March with the kids. A horrifying end to a tragic set of circumstances. Such a shame for those three wee souls.

i understand that the mind is a complex thing but i just cant begin to apprehend how anyone could do that to a child never mind their own children.
take your own life if its too much for you... but leave the kids alone!

It'll be interesting to see what defence they offer up for her actions. :agree:

I was on holiday when this happened and 3 of my friends are in the flat next door to that one. Only one was in at the time and he had tried to catch the woman when she jumped from the top balcony, pretty scary stuff, they are all still staying at their parents house and my friend has just got his car back which had been taken as evidence because there was the mothers blood on the car.
I hope she rots in jail for what she has done!!!:bitchy:

I don't know how anyone in their right mind could do such a thing. I suppose there are some genuinely bad people in the world.
Out of interest, where was your pal standing when he tried to catch the woman?

I'm not entirely sure where he was standing. I've not asked for the story in much detail yet, I heard from his flatmate (Also one of my good friends) but it is still quite a shock for them. I will let you know when I find out the whole story from them though!

Thanks for that, it must be awful for your pals having been so close to such a horrible thing happening.

That's what they were saying, it easily could have blown up in their flat too with it being next door. It must have been some frieght to be just sitting in your living room to hear this explosion next door!
I feel really sorry for the maintenance worker aswell who went into the flat after complaints of a smell of gas to see the children lying there:bitchy:
