Ideas for tracking down a decent price holiday?
Tried lastmin.com Thomson expedia and opodo
Me wife and lokinho looking for shorthaul family hol 7-10 days from 15th aug latest return 27th aug
We must have chosen (wifes work dictates) the worst time price wise
So any recommendation cheapest I've come across was 1050 for a studio 7 day trip to Majorca on Barrhead travel
At this rate I'm thinking sort something the day before 1 grand!

Try Travelrepublic.co.uk Broadwaytravel.com lowcostholidays.com
These sites are generally cheaper than main tour agents and you could be lucky.
Ive used both Travelrepublic and Broadwaytravel recently, with no problems.
The prices are still slightly higher just now with the collapse of Goldtrail, Thomson rep informed me of this on Friday.

I never use travel agents at all these days.
With the internet as it is, its easy enough to book flights to almost anywhere if you shop around and accommodation is pretty much the same.
Its much cheaper and whilst it can be a bit of a hassle the positives far outweigh the negatives!

I normally couldn't agree more, until recently it had been years since I used a travel agent. However, for something not so straight forward I found I couldn't beat the travel agent. I booked a honeymoon that involved flights to London - New York - St Lucia - London and travel agent price was far better than anything I could get. The travel agent reckoned this was down to the one-way elements of the flights.
Overall I agree with you though.

onthebeach.co.uk is a really good site, for the dates you mentioned I found 10 nights self catering to Majorca for 2 adults and 1 child for £692.42, flying from Prestwick though and I don't know if that would be a problem.

Thanks some decent options although it's frustrating with holiday popups and switching options removing the criteria I selected maybe not helped being on an iPhone but a good resource I wouldn't have known about otherwise thanks one and all
