The police in Carlisle usually escort away fans for biggish games to The Griffen at the top of Botchergate from the train station as next to it and then escort them to the ground (if arriving by train of course). I would imagine they will do this tomorrow as Carlisle fans have a bit of a reputation and being on a Sunday afternoon with pubs down here open on Sunday mornings there is the drink factor. the police had the kick off time a couple of weeks ago against newcastle changed so that there wouldn't be as much time to spend in the pubs before game. I live near to Botchergate and if you have a choice probably Walkabouts at bottom of Botchergate is best

Were driving down and noticed the rugby club has parking at it, so thought it would be a good idea to go there.

How far from the stadium is botchergate?

Rugby club is next to Brunton Park (Carlisles ground). Parking not a problem as lots of streets nearby and free on a sunday . Ground is easy to find (Warwick Road). Kids will not be allowed in most pubs and especially Botchergate area. Suggest The Turf (Pub)which is next to The Sands which is the leisure centre at one of the main roundabouts if you come in from A7 or motorway at junction 44 ( Scotland Road), cannot miss it on left as you head for city centre. Had lunch there today and excellent and pretty cheap (£ 4 to £7 for main meal and beer about £2 .50 a pint)

Hibs will be fine tomorrow in Botchergate. Newcastle were allowed to drink there 2 weeks ago (and last time before that) and they hate each other.

I only remember Leeds and Millwall not being allowed into Botchergate.

Quite a few Hibbies are meeting up in Walkabouts, myself included.

See you tomorrow

Went into Weth'ns pre match after a Walkabout KB! Sitting in the salubrious environs of The Border Rambler, has the match started yet?
