Do clubs pay for their shirts? Or are the cost of shirts included in the manufacturers sponsorship?

Yes they're calling the administrators in as we speak etc etc. Bust by Friday at 2.07pm.

Even if it did happen, it would be turned into great news and the best thing for them. I can just hear them: JJ should never have come back in the first place and they will be better of with an Lithuanian coach and an Eastern European strip maker blah blah blah. They would be certs to win the league! :greengrin

Debt ridden and cheating the rest of Scottish Football forever (or until the **** hits the fan). :bye:

Which floor do you work on and was this Yam standing on a window ledge by any chance?

There is a definate issue with Umbro, hence the Yams wearing last seasons strips against Dunfy last night..

Hertz have still an outstanding bill due to Umbro, this is for last seasons merchandise - replica kits, tracksuits, training wear etc which were sold via the Hertz shop!

The money issue isn't for THIS seasons first team kit, as already said on another thread Umbro sponsor/make the kits but they aren't willing to deliver new stock due to the outstanding money from LAST SEASON!

Please take note guys, this is how ALL "Big Teams" do business :agree:

They are normally included. A set amount per season which is not hard and fast but usually about six to eight strips per squad member. If the club wants any more they are supplied at cost.

While I'd like this to be true, there are more holes in this than there are racists in the rangers support.

But surely this is just the actions of such a well supported, forward thinking club responding to fan apathy towards their new Ajax style home kit and reverting to last seasons more traditional design?

Fiver says that's the spin they use, word for word haha

Jeffries will not walk out - end of.

Is it not a wee bit too early for the Hearts are finished thread. Lets wait until at least the season STARTS.

Remember clubs are usually cash rich at this point in the season

Anyway Hearts own UMBRO (or something similar) so it does not matter. What would they do with 400,000 shirts anyway.

Whilst this would be fantastic if true, I am led to believe that the issue with umbro is not an outstanding bill.

The story as explained to me over a few pints with a whole bunch of guys (mixed supporters various SPL clubs - some more in the know than others based on previous exclusives!) having played 8-a-sides was basically that umbro had drawn up designs of the strip with the new unconfirmed sponsors at the time (IIRC it was BAA - who have since pulled out of the deal - no surprise there!) and hertz did not like the design and demanded several changes. This resulted in a falling out of sorts and an inevitable delay - with the new prototypes being used for the photo shoot whilst the rest were being manufactured for the 400,000 (give or take 386,000!)Vlad followers - maybe thats why they looked so minging :in the official launch !! devil: .........

The real story of the strips:

Due to an unamiganable series of strange events all the new shiny strips were blown over the Forth Road Bridge and into the water below.

When he heard this FJ Knew what to do. He waded into the hordes of maroon clad fans and borrowed 11 of last years replicas, then at the end of the game they were all returned to their rightful owners. PROVING that you can borrow from yourself and pay it back. Its what big teams are good at.

Vlad had better be careful they don't damage the propellor on his Sub.

The really testing time will be at the turn of the year, especially if the weather is as bad a last winter. However cash fllow problems at this stage of the season must be a bit worrying, unless all big clubs hold back cash they are owing till the last minute.

Wait till they start building that stand though - thats going to be hard to finance, even for giants like them.

IF they did go into administration, don't they just get a 10 point penalty or something, which, to be honest, probably wouldn't do them a whole lot of damage on a grand scale?

10 points for to wipe out what, £37m? Doesn't seem like a bad deal to me.

If that is the case I'd be f'in ragin that they could cheat themselves out of debt.

Please tell me they'd be relegated to division 3 then replaced by huntly next season when they still can't pay their players.

Whatever happens, and it's unlikely to happen anytime soon, it will almost certainly not involve administrators or administration. The Mad One would have to have an argument with himself and start proceedings against himself as he is both the major shareholder and creditor. While Vlad having such a falling out which ended up in a Vlad v Vlad civil action is not beyond the realms of possibility it is, at this stage, improbable.

Apparently its something to do with the strips not having enough brown in them.

The 400k West Edinburgh Brown Shirt supporters have categorically stated, (in a petition signed by 398k of them) that no-one will buy their new top until it is a completely jobby colour!
