Interesting article on Maribor's sporting diector, Zlatko Zahovic.
I like his quote pre-world cup about England - “England, in my opinion, has 12 to 13 world-class players, said Zahovic. “Those are better than players on our team but their 14th player is worse than our 23rd! Players from West Ham, Portsmouth or Sunderland would find it hard to break into the starting XI at Maribor. I am dead serious.” We believe you - I think the WC showed that his view is probably correct with the exception that England don't have 12 to 13 world class players.
The article shows the similarities between Hibs and Maribor. Both teams had previous financial problems and changed direction by producing young local talent that they sell on.
