Are train drivers allowed to use them when driving or it is the same rules as car driving???????

Drivers are supplied mobile handsets by their TOC's(Train Operating Companies) as well as the train being kitted out with a cab radio(soon to be secure mobile phone system).
So, given they already have at least 2 mobile comms systems, don't see why they can't have a personal one?!?

Driving with a mobile phone is covered by the road traffic act so does not cover trains.

Could have been talking to the guard on the cab to cab phone ?

Personal mobiles are meant to be switched off whilst driving, whether they are or not is a different matter
