These games are normally open, only if there are trialists playing would it be closed doors and I can't see them closing it for an U19 trailist, I will certinally be going.

i was told by alistair it is a closed doors game, but its cause it they advertise it it means they need to provide more facilities and even security etc etc. also there isnt enough parking especially since liverpool are bringing their tv crews:greengrin

Anyone planning to pop along and watch it? The fact that o'connor strip said it was closed door has put me off going. Pity as I am sure that there would be some good players playing.

Wonder if Liverpool will have their defender called Patrik Poor playing. :greengrin

Not a bad match. Both teams looked better playing against the wind. Hibs have some useful laddies in the squad.

The future looks good if this the standard we have at this level. Makes a change to see 2 teams wanting to play football.

average age of the hibs players is 17 and liverpool looked a year or 2 older, but we managed to play good football at times and stand up to their big centre halves.

as this is only their 4th pre season game they still have a few weeks to build up fitness and gel as a team so the future looks very good for the young lads.

game is on liverpool tv during the week

Decent game, Hibs took the lead after 13 mins, slip up in the Liverpool defence and Caldwell took his goal well, sending a curling shot just beyond the keeper and just inside the post. 1-0 HT. Liverpool equalised 13 mins into second half, goal from a corner. Hibs regained the lead, not sure who scored but another good goal, They got their second not long after the defence lost the ball in mid-field, their wee forward beat the keeper one on one. Overall a good performance from the young lads. The Liverpool team was their U18, we were playing our U19 but only had two over 18 and we even had a couple of 16 year olds. Smith, Caldwell, Handling all look good as well as our newly signed centre-half ( not sure of his name), but he is nice and big and it was only after he was taken off after a bad tackle that the defence looked a bit shaky, especially after this fellow CH was also injured but played on holding his ribs for the last 15 mins of the game.

We have Newcastle and Sunderland coming up this week.

Really bored today so been having a look on other teams wbsites the day to see if there was much happening and noticed this post on kickback..

The agent of 19 yr old Liverpool midfielder, Victor Palsson, told danish media last week that 2 scottish SPL clubs have been in contact with Liverpool regarding the player along with dutch, portuguese and other english clubs. Could Hearts be one of the clubs?

Could the fact we were playing them today have any relevance? Possibly them wanting to see our set up before sending anyone up on loan :dunno:

And perhaps the BIGGEST U19 human being I've ever seen. The Liverpool #4!!!

The biggest guy to start the game...not the biggest to end it that was the huddie wearing the no 18 for Liverpool who came on at half time.

The no 4 is the German u 16 captain who they signed from Borussia Dortmund. Quite easily would be on wages far and beyond most first teamers at ER.

Thought that Lewis Horner was the most accomplished player on show today :agree:

Spoke to one of the team the other day who mentioned these 3 games - couldnt make Sunday but hopefully go this week

Speaking of the Liverpool game, did anyone who went know if Sterling played for them? Remember a big fuss being made of them signing him cos he was only 15/16 so assumed he'd be playing?

The under 19s got humped 4-0 today. Poor display after Sunday but the Sunderland team were very good and had a bit of luck with their goals. Hibs didn't get any breaks but didn't deserve any. 3-0 down at ht.

Never mind, bring on the skunks on Monday.
