Was playing as a trialist for St Mirren tonight against Ayr Utd and scored....

I quite liked Glass when he was with us and glad to see he's potentially getting a chance at another crack in the SPL.

That goal against Aberdeen was a peach :agree:

Trouble with Stephen Glass is that you can see right through him.

He was a bit of a tumbler in the box though & was always trying to make a spectacle of himself, IMO.

On a serious note, Glass was yet another player who suffered from our obsession for playing players out of position. Always a right mid but shunted to right back as emergency cover and then couldn't get his proper place back.

Another slow coach though - we seem to attract them.

:agree:

And IIRC he seemed to do alright at left back in the absence of Murphy, who I think broke his wrist? His first game there was against the Huns i'm sure, Prso scored in a one nil loss, Novo sent off for kicking out at Rocastle when we were on top. We'd have won the game 11 V 11. We couldn't break them down when they planted ten men in their own half.

He played left back a few times, I also think I remember him playing there in a 4-0 or 4-1 win at Dens Park not long after the Rangers loss.

I liked Glass, certainly couldn't class him as a bottle merchant...

No you're not the only one. Some of them are cringeworthy.

I think you could - I remember him stepping out of a few tackles, bottle merchant was the term I used at the time.

I thought he was going to be an excellent signing but he was just ok. He did score a great goal v Aberdeen in Mowbray's 1st season that kept us in the hunt for 3rd.

Agreed, and for that reason, I think his chances of signing for St Mirren are blown.

It's a shame he's going to finish his career with his reputation stained.
