Was up on Sunday where the conditions (minus the rain) were shocking, from the players I saw I thought Furyk looked pretty impressive, will be taking him e/w

Good news that the BBC is to show the Open till 2016. It's still a joy to spend the day in the company of Messrs Alliss and Grady etc.

I do fear, however, that the increasing use of slowmo and ambient music which, for me, bedevils other sports, is going to become a problem. Sometimes you don't know if what you are watching is live or not.

Also the BBC seems determined to uncover the human side of our sportsmen. Personally, I don't care what the guys do in their private lives as long as they can thrill me on the golf course.

Let's have less special effects, less Hazel Irvine and more golf.

Did anyone see Seve's interview on BBC 2 about 7.45?

Heartbreaking to see him but what a personality. What a moment it would have been if he had graced the Old Course tomorrow and Friday

That was great admittedly but on the whole I'd like to see less chat and more golf.

There wasn't a whole lot that they could have done there as the course was closed due to the weather, ergo, the champions tournament was cancelled. There was therefor no golf to show yesterday so a quick rescheduling was made and they put on a "build up to the Open" which was when the Seve interview was shown. It's not as if the interview was shown in the middle of the first day.

I do agree that we could do without "Ken on the Course" every 20 minutes.:agree:

Tiger was 7/1 first day. 4/1 second day.

Casey 10/1 on second day.

That is where my money is right now.

Nice to see the South African guy (I'm not even going to try and spell his name:greengrin) winning it. Especially today being Nelson Mandela's 92nd birthday. Many Happy Returns to the great man !

Oosty won it by a mile.

Can't help thinking the tournament was a bit - well - flat this year. Might have something to do with the weather but also the course. I know St Andrews is the mecca of golf and all that but I find its treeless wastes a little depressing to survey for four days.

One hole starts to look very much like another, as the actress said.......

Oosthuizen. But then I am just showing off!

For a bonus point, try spelling his 2 christian names.!!
