With all the controversy over Howard Webb's handling of last night's game, I had a wee surf to see what I could find about a referee's ability to use his own discretion when applying the laws of the game.
I found a site which is designed to help referees. We all know that there are only 17 Laws of the Game. This site has identified the 18th (http://www.corshamref.org.uk/common.htm#1. Common Sense).
