I am trying to compile a list of commentating cliches to play Bullshot Bingo tonight. Can anyone add to my list of cringeworthy comments we can expect from whatever fuds are in the commentary box tonight?

Heres my starters:

No disrespect to Holland.
Van Bommel is booked and justice is done at last.
Dirk Kuyt of Liverpool.
To leave out Torres and Fabregas shows how special this Spanish team are.
Yet another argument for the use of technology in the game.
How much better than England are these cheese eaters?
It's a Catalan victory tonight!

And Mark Lawrenson's MOM is Howard Webb.

Howard webb means English representation in the final
He's the best ref in the world

Of course if Frank Lampards goal had been awarded Howard Webb might not have been the only Englishman to grace this memorable evening with his presence.

When was the last time an Englishman appeared at a World Cup final?

Not since England won the World Cup in 1966 has there been such a controversial decision.

Will we be witnessing Fabio Capello's men lining up to contest the World Cup final, four years from now?

Seventeen* of the players on the field today plie their trade in the English Premiership, which is, as you know, the best league in the world.

* Or six or twelve or whatever it is, as if we cared.

This is the first time two European teams have contested a final on another continent.

Holland have surprised us all.

If only they'd had that strong a defence in the war.

Of course the Dutch game owes much to the pioneering work of Englishmen like Jack Reynolds, the legendary Ajax trainer. (Give yourself double points if this comes up).

What lessons are there for England to learn here?

What a good decision by the linesman. If only he had been running the line in the Germany game we may have had a real interest in this final.

News at Ten will now follow extra time and penalties if still goalless.

And it's over to Mark Lawrenson.

"What a spectacular occasion and stadium. I don't think I've seen so many Holland supporters in one place.

"Mark - The fans haven't arrived yet"

They've always liked to showboat the Dutch.

A small country that's always punched above its weight.

Lawrenson - say what you like they're just a bunch of cloggers.

The Dutch defence stands as resolute as a North Sea dyke.

it's not about winning the world cup, the target was always providing the officials in the final, we can be well pleased with that, we slipped in to sieze the prize when everyone else was distracted by the performances of the players on the field.

I cant wait for the trafalgar square celebrations as the whistler and his flag men arrive back, the open top bus ride down the mall to the palace is just what this sort of occasion is about............................

BBC Sports Personality of the year - Howard Webb?

How much longer will we have to wait for an England appearance/win in the final?
As Howard Webb is English at least we can be sure of fairness.

England must surely think that they could have competed here.....if only we had technology in place......Blah, Blah, Blah

'Who's the ******* in the black, who's the ******* in the black'

Sung by Motty as he gets escorted from the studio in a straitjacket. Pretty unlikely I suppose. I don't really play Bingo.

Lawrenson:

"I've decided that I'm a horrible **** and I'm off to top myself"

Sadly the above never happened.

I assume Shearer MUST have opined "If he just hits the target there, it's a certain goal"

No don't think so but they did mention that David Villa was coming to Easter Road in exchange for Colin Nish. Money was also mentioned but they didn't say how much Rodders wanted.

I'd take him, but only just.
David Villa is 5'9".
