Players scoring on their debut

My wee boy said to me yesterday "Hibs players always seem to score in their first game for Hibs". This is a reference to David Stephens scoring yesterday. He backed this up by mentioning Alan Gow scoring in the cup game against Montrose.

In the past, I can remember lots of Hibs players scoring on their debut, like Houchen against Rangers and Killen against Rangers. But now I am struggling to remember others.

So which others Hibs players scored on their debuts for Hibs?

My Dad won a competition in the EEN and was in corporate for that game. He and the other winners hit penalties into Jason Gardner at the Famous Five end at half-time.


Peter Gucci also scored on his debut IIRC. I though he was gonna be awesome when I was a lad. How wrong I was!

If so, you would be correct. He scored in his first league appearance for Hibs but his debut was the week before in a Scottish Cup match against Dunfermline.

No Kevin appeared a few times in the season before mostly as a substitute. I think I can recall him starting in a 3-2 defeat at Dundee.

Neil Orr is now working for the SFA doing Coaching and such like. along with Keith Wright. In fact I think he may well be Keiths boss.
