Now we have our beautiful stadium sorted for next year, what do you think our average attendance will be?

I'll start:

14,567

I think 15k, what with Europa games and the new stand being opened in September.

Just looked at Wikipedia for last seasons average attendances, lowest attended game was Hammies v Yams...

The day the big team took less than 100 to Hamilton, also the day Mikey Stewart took a fall in the NDP tunnel! :greengrin

Truth rather than lies.

Hibs don't count for empty seats where a season ticket has been sold (for £20?).

It'll be a hot ticket in the second half of the season, once the next generation of kids and suburban wives discover the game they'll be hooked. They can fill the FF and West and leave us rabid, slavering jakeys to the East.

about 14,000ish can see it increasing for the season, If we have a good season maybe near 15,000 next again season.

Just hope we sell out on big games, which i cant see happening. Hopefully we sell out vs the Yams atleast.

Surely we need to introduce some sort of scheme to ensure that the next generation of kids make the progression from naive optimist to rabid slavering jakey. We have to make plans now to replace the current crop of headcases.:agree:

Between 12 & 13,000.

We have to face the fact that even for the OF and the Yams we are unlikely to sell out the home parts of the ground, which will no doubt lead to the usual Yam sheoit about empty seats.

But hey. The idea is to get to a stage somewere down the line where we can sell out 16,000 odd home seats.

In the 80s Smeltics average was around 26,000 and Rankgers about the same, so with a proper stadium and a reasonably good team 14,000 to 16,000 home fans shouldnt be an unrealistic goal in the long term.

I think the club, parents, schools, local publicans and drug dealers have to come together in a genuine community based initiative.

And less incentive to buy season ticket given should be no problem getting tickets for these games, or even paying at the gate with minimal hassle far from an impossibility. That does not necces arily affect average crowd that much but overall effect will probably be a reduction from last season. Will go for average of 11975 but can see sub 8,000 crowds and possibly less for some SPL games for the first time since Willimason left, but there will be some peaks as well as troughs

If the atmosphere is better than many fans anticipate in new stand these projections could easily be revised upwards, more than a few are holding off renewing season tickets until they see.
