Would rather have Gary Docherty, centre half just released by Norwich - no pace but brilliant reader of the game.

Agreed. Remeber when he first broke on the scene at Tottenham and played up front?

I'd be straight down to my bank to extend my overdraft then straight to ER to buy a Trundle Hibs top.

No doubt he would serve a purpose as a 'maverick' type with skills to do the unexpected and unlock the door, but as has been said, his wage demands will be too high for us - especialy given his age.

Nah. Not for me. When he went back Swansea City on loan, they realised that they already had a fat inconsistent show-boater that can't cut it and so Dobbie had to go to Blackpool.

Trundle was an excellant player when younger, hes way to much like gazza for me now tho!

Saying that he'd fit right in with our party hardy players!

Docherty, is he no ancient?

Quite old, about 34 - i reckon he'd be good for another season or two. I saw him for Norwich against Lincoln City last year (I know they are gash) but he was fantastic, the young spritely centre forward would have been as well sitting with me. The Doc knew what he was going to do before he did.

34 is young compared to davie wier, who still does a job i might add

34 is no OAP right enough he could be invaluable to the kids signed from the Academy, they could learn a bit from him, but would we want someone on at the end of his carrear? I'd like to think Yogi would be eyeing up players with 3/4 years ahead of them at least, or in the true Hibs style, younger players with sell on potential.

Davie Weir might have done a job for them last year, and indeed got the POY from Lodge West of Scotland Journo's. However, if he'd been plying his trade anywhere else he'd have spent more time in the stand than Yogi. We shouldn't be looking at players at that age as they might know all the tricks but they won't get away with them at Hibs.

Dont you think that with all the young lads in the team and coming through at the moment they would benefit from having a seasoned pro around them for a couple of years? I think we're really lacking a good old head just now.
I reckon Chris Hogg would hugely benefit from a guy like Docherty in the team playing alongside him.
