I thought his interest in Hibs was only slight

Him and his brother are both supporters, his grandfather apparently played for the club.

:agree: Roy Erskine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Erskine

I was reading Andy Murray wiki earlier today - he was there at that school at the time of the Dunblane Massacre in 1996 :bitchy:

Well it looks like he's used that to motivate himself and become the best athlete he can be in his chosen sport. It's a shame that many football players don't have the same determination and drive!

Hopefully he does the damage in the next round and keeps the cabbage represented at Wimbledon!

The story I heard about his connection to that tragic day in dunblane was that he was kept out that day to go shopping with his mum? Not sure if thats true though.

Why don't you try pushing your way into the top 3 or 4 of tennis' world rankings - touring the world playing all the tourneys and training abroad most of the rest of the time from your early teens and see how much energy and focus you've got left for keeping an eye on all that's going on at ER :bitchy:

He and his brother will tell anyone anywhere who asks that they're Hibees - not Huns, Tims, ManU or Barca fans - that's good enough for me.

They did a feature in a matchday program a year or so back. Think I saw a picture on the news a while ago of him in a Hibs sweater as a kid next to Pat McGinley.

Taken from wikipedia:

Murray attended Dunblane Primary School, and was present during the 1996 Dunblane massacre.[17] Thomas Hamilton killed 17 people, mostly children who were in a younger age group than Murray, before turning one of his four guns on himself. Murray took cover in a classroom.[18] Murray says he was too young to understand what was happening and is reluctant to talk about it in interviews,

Jeez I did not mean it like that. I meant slight as in the 9 million people who call themselves Man U fans but who have never been to Old Trafford. Or slight as in a hibs.net poster who does not go to the games.

Im not expecting Andy Murray to talk non stop Hibs and jetting back from Australlia to watch the vital match against Hamilton.

I swear soome folk just look for things to greet about.

Not true, Having read Murray's Autobiography, Murray took refuge under a table in the classroom.

I was just thinking the same thing when I watched the News. Maybe because it's nowt to do with tennis they'd be OK, but in this day of PC gone mad :tee hee: who knows. They be saying we can't call black people.[you're fired - ed]
