because the game was 2-1, they needed to win by +2, so conceded the OG=2-2, game goes into extra time where they scored, and as ET goals are apparently x2 they effectively won 4-2, with a 2 goal margin.

Give them half an hour to score one goal that will count as 2.

Because if they hadn't scored the own goal they would have won the game in normal time, but only by 1 goal?
So it was easier to go into extra time and have more time to score a winning goal, which counted as two, which is what they needed to get through to the final of something.

This doesn't make any sense, they were in a qualifying group, you dont play extra time in group games, so the result at 90 mins should have been the final score.:confused:
