*These two are the only one that I think could really go either way. England should beat a young German team, and Japan seem to have the ability from free kicks to get past Paraguay.

Hard to call a lot of the ties:

Uruguay - should have too much for the Koreans, especially with Forlan leading the charge.

USA - We have enough to beat Ghana, but I think this could go either way - they looked good vs Germany and dumped us out at the group stages in 2006. Revenge mission for Bradley and Co.!

Germany - Again, should be a close call, but Germany have talent all over the park and no real weak links. England are vulnerable at the back and Podolski, Ozil and Muller will pose them problems.

Argentina - should be a straightforward task for the Argies - besides, they already play England in the QF's, dontcha know?

Holland - be a tough game, but the Dutch should have more than enough.

Brazil - I've not been impressed by them yet, but they're getting it done. Chile looked good vs Spain, but will miss their 3 suspended players and seem to have discipline issues.

Japan - not seen much of either side to be honest, but Japan looked comfortable against Denmark.

Spain - with the squad they have, they should be comfortable - Portugal didn't have much going forward (other than Ronaldo) against Brazil.

Best team won tonight, though our defense was shocking.

Best of luck to the Black Star Nation against Uruguay :agree:

Bit harsh on the USA. Another terrible start and a poor first half but rallied strongly in the second period and were most likely to win at 1-1.

Don't think I've said anything which is untoward in all honesty. Our defense WAS shocking, especially for both goals...DeMerit backed away from Boateng and let him advance. The defending for the second goal was appalling - Bocanegra should have just dumped him on his ass and emptied the ball.

This turning up for one half of football isn't good enough. We look composed and threatening on the attack, but soooo vulnerable defensively.

Ricardo Clark should NEVER have started last night - had Feilhaber played from the off, we might be looking forward to a game vs Uruguay next Friday, but alas...

However, it means I can enjoy the remaining games with a degree of impartiality!
