Like a bit of Wimbledon between the football but how annoying is it when they need a towel between every point!!! Cannae be that sweaty and definately slows the play down. Imagine that happened in ffotball every time the ball went dead!

Is the towel not because sweat would make them lose their grip on the racquet?

Afte 10 seconds of activity! Andy Murray does it every point even if he has served an ace! It seems to be their faces that they wipe.:greengrin Maybe they need John McEnroe style headbands!

I take your point, if they were perspiring that much, they'd surely be nothing more than a pile of salt by the end of the game. It could be nerves, like how snooker players are constantly chalking their cue.
McEnroe was an exceptionally sweaty b*gger.

Its a wonder the committee at Wimbledon allow it! Yeh but he was great to watch, bit like Deeks, a grumpy genius!:agree:

They're just trying to make it look more dramatic and bring a bit of excitement to an otherwise dull sport.
Sorry lads, but tennis is a crock of *****.

Does that boy at Stoke that takes about 30 seconds to hurl every shy into the penalty box not already include a towel in his ritual? :dunno:

Rory Delap, yes he does. Imagine if every player did it before every throw in and every player cleaned their boots before every free kick and goal kick. Just seems to spoil the flow a bit.

:agree: and ruins the flow of the game. Once one stated doing it they all do it. Bit like footballers pulling their socks up above the knee, or when they wore those silly bands across their nose like Robbie Fowler. Fortunately these thing dont affect the flow of the game. Am surprised they are allowed to take the towels away from the change round area.
