I think the O'Brien of about 5 years ago would have been a great signing but he's lost his pace & IMO would not have been any better ( in same position ) as the fans' favourite :wink: John Rankin. I'm also not sure why we were looking at a left sided player, we already have JR, Murray, Stevenson & Galbraith who can play? in that position.
There are more obvious gaps to fill but I'm confident Yogi knows that also & I'm looking forward to a Jordi Cruyff or Reyes signing any day now!!

So Hibs offered him a 2 year deal, European and SPL football and Falkirk offered him a 1 year deal in the 1st division and he opted for the falkirk deal - is that what you want us to believe? I'm not saying Hibs didn't enquire about him but we certainly didn't offer him a deal.

Although i would have waited to see him peform on the field before i judged him rather relieved he is'nt signing. But if hibs never offered him a deal where do these rumours come from about him signing etc etc :confused:

Im sure we all hear stories some of which are closer to the mark than others but surely if hibs did enquire about obrien it would have meant him being a squad player at best and more probably a fall back if a couple of other deals fell through.More likely it never got to the deal stage as i cant see how he would be in the team ahead of de graaf,millar,zemmamma,wotherspoon or rankin.Im sure what happened to paddy cregg will have shown him some pointers.
