Come on golf fans! I'm aware there's a World Cup on at the moment, but the US Open starts tomorrow at Pebble Beach

Really looking forward to it, as it's a cracking course and it's going to be interesting to see how Tiger gets on, as he seems more focussed in any of his press interviews than he has for a while. He also carries the weight of history on this course though, as well as his own expectations, so it will be interesting to see if he flops yet again, or manages to rise above, as he very nearly did at The Masters.

Tiger and Phil are both favourites, as you would expect, but who do you fancy?

I'm looking forward to this. I expect Tiger to have a good showing, what with this being a favourite of his, but I think it'll be a European. Possibly Westwood if he doesn't bottle it again.

Wouldn't mind seeing Big Phil win though.

Took a bit of Tiger at 9's on Betfair so that's who i'll be cheering (again).

The dust has finally settled with the cut at +7. The tournament will be much more watchable now that all the players are starting from the 1st tee.

For some reason, the TV coverage is just not the same when half of the field starts from the first and the other half from the 10th.

As ever, it's difficult to figure out the winner but it's good to see big Ernie challenging and it would be brilliant if Paul Casey is still in with a chance when it gets down to the nitty gritty.

The quality of the greens doesn't look anything special but jeez they seem fast and certainly not for the faint hearted. I shudder to think how my nervous jerk of the putter head would cope out there!!

Looking forward to the final 36 holes!

Woods on the back 9 was simply sensational:agree:

Dustin J +6 for 6 holes.

Else and Lefty circling, and Havret doing well.

Brilliant to see a European leading the field - hope he can hold out.

Tiger has hit the self destruct button today, as has Dustin Johnson.

Els (nearest to McDowell at -2) is currently clambering down the embankment towards the beach in hope of finding his wayward tee-shot. Dear goodness!

Is it just me or do the greens look murder. I layed at Gullane last week and their greens were better than that!

The greens did look patchy but that's Pebble Beach. It's a bit different.

Well done G.Mac - he kept his head and avoided the pitfalls, unlike Woods, Els and Mickelson.
