View Full Version : Match Updates World Cup - Day 4 - (Netherlands vs Denmark, Japan vs Cameroon, Italy vs Paraguay)

First game of the day features the highly fancied Netherlands vs Denmark, followed by Japan hosting Cameroon and closing off with the much unmentioned Italy facing Paraguay.

TV scheduling as follows. For those of you, like me, who are at work, the 2 BBC games will also be available online. ITV's website appears to be done, though I don't actually know if they stream the games in real-time?

I can see me getting very little done today as a result :greengrin

COULD be 3 good games today, particularly the first 2.
Unfortunately I will be at work for all of them, but we willhave the TV on in the office, so I will get to see bits

They do, but I am not sure if you'll get them in the US.

Dutch appear, to me, to be trying too hard to play. Forcing it a bit.

Bah - just got back in to notice that Robben is on the sodding bench - that'll be my fantasy team awaiting points for a bit longer then!

Holland v Denmark ------> :yawn:

Missed the 1st 7 games due to being away over the weekend. Managed to get the Germany game last night which was good, but only as Austrailia were so poor. But doesn't seem i've missed much.

The world cup will properly kick off tomorrow at 7.30pm :agree::thumbsup:

How the Dutch aren't down to 9 men already is quite beyond me.

2 absolutely horrible challenges.

Has Arjen Robben been caught with Frank DeBoer's missus or something?

By far one of the most talented players in the Dutch arsenal, and he doesn't look like leaving the bench! :grr:

Edit: Ah, I see he's injured!

Netherlands will have to improve if they are to win the cup, they did look a lot better when Elia came on though.

Japan vs Cameroon has been dull so far, not helped by Mark bloody Lawrenson giving his "can't be arsed" act again.

I really dislike Mark Lawrenson as a commentator, but it's hard to disagree with his lack of enthusiasm. Poor attendance, awful football, no chances being cut out and it's so stop/start it's unbearable.

It's rivalling the Algeria vs Slovenia game for "worst of the tournament" thus far.

red button you can have 5live commentators through the t.v, lawrenson is the worst co-commentator ever! not that 5live is much better total lack of respect :grr:

Bloody hell, does Lawrenson even want to be there? Has he been dragged to South Africa against his will, or can he only muster a desire to live when England are playing?

I know the threat of Cameron looms large, but that still shouldn't stop the BBC from being able to hire a 'commentator' with an ounce of enthusiasm - aren't they supposed to try and keep the audience watching rather than urging them to switch to the exhilarating Midsomer Murders?

I enjoyed Japan's performance, good passing side. If they had a striker theyd be contenders.

As for Lawrenson, i wish he'd just **** off.

14-06-2010, 03:58 PM
Take it the second half was a bit better then?

I turned it off as I figured getting some work done would be more prudent.

Here's hoping for better things tonight, as overall, the first 2 games today have been utterly woeful.

Robben was injured a few weeks ago and probably still not 100%, so probably not being risked yet unless neccessary.

Cameroon look dreadful. Why Eto'o started on the right hand side is beyond me and why Alex Song wasn't playing is beyond me aswell. Actually hate Mark Lawreson but he was right when he kept banging on about it.

Whats the difference between Mick Mccarthy and a vuvuzela? One has an annoying monotonous single pitch drone, with an odd lopsided opening on the front which has no place in the World Cup. The other is a plastic horn...
