I remember in Athens for the AEK game some lads had a brilliant big banner with a pyramid, camel and "South Morrocan Hibs Supporters Club" on it.

Anyone on here own this?

Good. It's our song and they never should have been singing it in the first place. :agree:

Their version :grr:

Have you heard of the Heart of Midlothian?
Have you seen them in "Marone”?
Have you heard of the Heart of Midlothian?
They're the greatest team I know...

We have played in South Morocco,
We have played in the USA,
But the greatest game in history,
Is the game on new years day,,,

Oh jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to beat
The Hibs on New Years day.,,

For it's a home for famous heroes,
And their stories have been told,
Of Alfie Conn and Jimmy Wardhaugh,
John Cummings and Willie Bauld...

And when my life is over,
And death has left its mark,
You can scatter all my ashes,
On the slopes of Tynecastle Park

Dunno about fact but I think it's their song as well. They've got a bit more substance to theit version than ours.

well not really

The debate about this song has been going on for some time. It would make sense for it to be a hibs song in origin, as I am pretty sure we have never playerd in South Morocco, but on the other hand we have been singing it since late 70s/ early 80s and I don't remember Hibs fans singing it back then

This is the London hearts 'official' explanation
