It can't be just me who finds it incredible that a 39 year old man can be that stupid and that, having almost killed a small baby and caused it who knows what kind of problems in future, isn't fined or imprisoned.
I know it's a cliche on forums but if that had been my child....

What an idiot (was going to say ******** but thought better of it!).
This is just almost as bad as the idiot who was babysitting and tried to feed the baby a sausage which it subsequently choked to death on. They then fled the scene. I think she got something like 2 years.

What a plank! :grr:
I seriously doubt any mentally competant person could do such a thing and not know that it is going to cause the baby harm.
Almost as bad as the two lesbians in the paper the other day that used methadone to stop thier baby from crying, by rubbing her dummy in it........ :jamboak:
they're arguement was that the baby is always crying and behaving in an aggressive manner - perhaps it's because she's been neglected and force fed class A drugs by her junkie parents?!?!
Total **** of the earth.

Absolutely incredible story, and he should have been sent to jail.
Folk like that should not be allowed to breed.

What's the significance of the fact they were lesbians?

One of the resident Social Workers will be after you for this post, it's their "chaotic lifestyles" that are to blame. don't you know? Honestly some of the Daily Mail rhetoric on here, blah blah blah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would guess he's using it as a descriptor for the story rather than saying 'All lesbians are baby methadone feeding cows', which is what I think you're implying he's saying.
If that's the most significant thing you can pick up from this thread mate I think you need to get some priorities reordered.

I saw this story yesterday and I couldn't believe what I was reading.
How someone could fully insert a wipe into a baby's bottom and not realise that it could do him serious harm in the future is beyond me.
I just find that incredible.
It might not be very pleasant but if you're looking after a baby, one of the things that you just have to accept is that they occasionally mess their nappy and you have to clean them up.

Now Corrie, away and have a lie down in a dark room and try and avoid starting a fight with yourself.
You seem to stalk threads waiting for someone to come out with what you would undoubtedly think of as some wishy-washy liberal p!sh, and when they don't you have a general pop at the possibility that someone might come out with this, and give them some sarcastic abuse in advance!
Out of genuine curiosity, do you actually think that the Daily Mail is a fine upstanding journal, representing the true Britain as a lone voice in the wildenress of Political Correctness?

You're absolutely right. I can see it now, it's about jogging people's memories rather than adding an extra twist to the story. :agree: Fair do's.
As regards stupidity feeding babies, it's nothing new I'm afraid. I remember when my sister was doing her community nurse training, she asked this radge couple what they were feeding their three month old on, their answer was "macaroni".
That was 25 years ago.
Of course it might just have been a case of taking the pee on their part, but you here so many stories about kids getting weaned on Irn Bru, it's certainly believable.

Fair dos mate.
I think people can be stupid and feed kids the wrong things but what seemed so callous was that she just upped a disappeared. Perhaps she didn't know the kid had died and just left knowing they'd be back soon but from the article it implied she just pissed off after she'd realised the kid had died. Strange story but sad all the same.
I couldn't begin to imagine what the parents must have felt when they got back.

Not food related. I was watching the news last night about the two paedophiles from Greenock. Part of the horrific catalogue was that they had paid a mother for her silence.
We always assume that mothers are beyond reproach. But what struck me was there are probably lots of women out there who are so selfish they would even sell their kids for sex.
Are they stupid, or just callous.

Read this yesterday and couldn't believe it,what a ****ing bam :grr:
As mad as it sounds I suppose it's all about intent.
I've tried hard to try and think on his level after reading this. He must have thought that the wipe would either just stop the bairn from pooing or it would all come out in a neat package!
The damage was done when he realised his mistake and tried to get it out.
If he's guilty of anything it's being extremely lazy and very stupid but at a very high cost to the bairn.
I think I'm with the judge on this one but anyone this daft can't be allowed to be alone with children ever again. There has to be some sort of restriction after this.

Impossible to enforce such a restriction and he's been admonished anyway so looks like he is free to stick baby wipes up more erses if he wants!
I don't think it is necessary to jail the guy though. He obviously has some issues so sending him to jail would not benefit anyone - him or the 'community'.
Crazy story though, and quite minging when you think about it!!

Nothing significant about the fact that they're lesbians; It's just another fact - they just so happen to be lesbian junkies who fed they're baby methadone.
