Not Reilly, IIRC. In the 1950 World Cup Scotland's qualifying section was the Home International Championship. The top two teams qualified for the finals, but the SFA announced that Scotland would only participate if tyhey won the Championship (i.e. beat England). Scotland came second in the Home Internationals and didn't go to the World Cup. So Reilly missed out.

He played on till 1958, but his international appearances became less frequent because of illness and injury. He wasn't in either of those squads as far as I know.

Jackson played (and scored) in the World Cup qualifying for 1998 as a Hibs player, but had moved to Celtic before the finals, IIRC.

Leighton was at the 1996 Euro finals as a Hibs player, but no World Cup finals.

So is it safe to say that big Sol has quite an achievement then?

For Scotland Willie Ormond in 54, Eddie Turnbull in 58 and John blackley in 74. Darren Jackson could also count. In 54 neither Bobby Johnstone or Combe played and Tommy Younger was with Liverpool in 58. Have had a few players in the squad but who didn't play, Collins in 90, Schaedler in 74.
