Would be tempted by Argentina or Spain. I think (and stand to be corrected :greengrin) that the draw could/should throw up an Argentina-Spain semi-final. It's likely that Spain would have to beat Italy though, in the QFs.

I can't really see past Brazil or Spain. Far too strong all over the pitch, and the Spanish in particular have a good team spirit.

Germany & Italy will probably be there or there abouts again.

Would like to see an African team do well. Preferably the Ivory Coast :wink:

I'm hoping Argentina win it; i've always supported Maradona as manager and thought he would get it right when the tourney comes round. I can't believe hes not taking Zanetti though, surely the most baffling of his many baffling decisions :grr:

Overall winners? Toughie - Brazil don't look great, nor do Argentina. Spain have a good squad, Italy are ALWAYS a shout and Holland looked pretty awesome during qualifying.

Argentina should win their group because its pretty weak but I think Maradona's clueless as a manager and they'll get beaten as soon as they play one of the better teams. I hope I'm wrong because he was an Idol of mine as a player , but I just dont think he know what he's doing. I think Italy are a decent bet. Nobody fancies them....but then nobody ever does whenever they win, they'll grind out results

The Germans are always a good shout (and because they wore a green away strip for many a year and are perrenial irritants to our Southern neighbours) thats who I shall support. Even when they're supposedly weak (2006 WC for example) they still attend the busines end of the tourney.

Failing that Argentina or the Dutch.

As for England, without Rooney, they don't seem to have the greatest sqaud. Having said that, Cappello knows his stuff so they shouldn't be written off. Levein called it right by saying a semi would be a decent result for them (and I don't mean in a John Terry kinda way...).
