Anyone else had the "pleasure" of doing one of these on-line tests when applying for a job?

I've just done one tonight and made a right royal james blunt of it. I thought I was good with numbers but obviously not. I spent too long on a hard question and panicked when I realised there were too many questions remaining for the amount of time I had. The last three answers were just guesses!

Raging with myself...but you have to be a bloody robot to compute all of that sort of stuff succesfully in a short amount of time. My head hurts and I feel like just necking a bottle or two of wine!:grr:

The next one I've to do is a "mechanical reasoning" test. If anyone has done one of these please tell me it's easier than the last one.

yep, thats exactly what i done too. just start guessing when you realise youve got about 30 secs left... who knows you might get lucky!

i actually managed to get through to interview stage when i done it but note sure how many of the guesses were right! they said people with above 50% got through so dont think you need to get em all right!

also done verbal ones which are really really difficult. dont sound hard but are.

p.s. think theres places you can practise em online before doing them.

That's the next stage If I get through these ones. I've tried a few practice verbal ones on line and after half-way they get solid. You read the paragraph twice and you're still thinking "whit?".

It's comforting to know that 50% is sometimes the pass mark but everyone and their granny would be applying for this job because it was advertised so heavily...so maybe that would increase the cut-off point.

It's that limbo between sitting it and getting the result back that does you in.

I done one and royally arsed it up. Got hardly any time to do it and without knowing it makes you panic a wee bit.

Tried the bottom one, not too difficult but obviously not done in a stress situation but then again I'm pretty good with numeracy.
