Looking at getting a flag made within the next month for the singing section. 1 that will cover the back of one of the sections mainly the middle of the 3 sections allocated.

i was thinking getting Hibernian Football Club (hibs badge) with a a moto underneath it something about making noise and bringing colour back or something.

Need help with the bit under it.. Any suggestions would be spot on.

Anyone want to be part owner and chip in, would be good if a couple folk would chip in for it. Due to beeing a student am pretty skint but i have 35 quid towards it so far . Not sure how much it would cost?

It would also be good for everyone in the home singing section to sit next to the same faces away from home so it will get taken to most away games aswell. WHich would improve atmosphere a bit imo.

i also like the fulham style one thats there aswell.

quick mock up not the best, and thats not going to be the moto i dont think... need some suggestions on that front?

Bring on next season...

I seem to remember a request for someone to take over custody of the .net flag. Don't know if there were any takers?
You could take it, save the bother of getting a new one.

If you're gonna get it made then www.barmyflags.co.uk is probably the most popular.

As said on the bounce make sure you get permission and stuff before hand.

Do you have a rough idea on the budget, because if theres enough donations there could be enough spare for another flag. Something like

CHRISTIAN NADE HEARTS STRIKER HIBS LEGEND

If you plan on including the Hibs badge on any flag, make sure you seek permission from the club before going ahead with it.

I seem to remember Hibs.net having a few difficulties at first regarding the inclusion of the badge on their flag a few years ago, before the club eventually agreed to it.

Should get a forum on the go, then a group and a group banner. Name doesn't have to be anything cheesy, a banner with simply 'HIBERNIAN' on it, something to give like-minded fans their own identity. I think the singing section will take care of itself, but the away games could do with some atmosphere and colour. Then after there is a hardcore group and folk get to know eachother could maybe get some displays done in the East etc like what groups at Rangers, Celtic and Aberdeen have done.

Here's a few quick banner designs i've knocked up.

Banner 1 (http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/1255/hibernian2d.jpg)

Banner 2 (http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/4835/hibernian1.jpg)

There is a massive supporters scene in Poland and loads of flag suppliers have sprung up in Poland.

One of those are here, prices are at the top. Notice the Aberdeen flag, they've got 2 from that supplier, believe it was cheaper for them to get them made in Poland and have them sent over, good quality aswell. UltrasShop Poland (http://www.ultrasshop.com/?menu=sklep&mkat=CHOREOGRAFIA&kat=flagi_na_plot).

Good idea :greengrin, If theres spare left over then could be a wee idea:agree:, Yep ive emailed the club but not hoping for much back? Anyone got someone in the club that will most likely reply to me. I emailed the Email address from the Hibs website? board@hibernianfc.co.uk

theres a few folk chipping in so shouldnt be that bad. Its a good cause and all that aswell.

i would 100% donate toward that. would be fantastic, up the back of the new east.

Does anyone know if the club would allow what man united have, where the fans are allowed to hang the flag up first game of the season and leave it till the last?

ill be looking at starting a group like that soon, going to get this banner made first then at away games stick it up get everyone in the area of the banner and make some noise basically. Like just let people know what part of the stand we will go ect. Would be hard for big games and all ticket though.

its including shipping mate, That would be great of you could just need to a sort of slogan as im not sure about the " we are stronger together, Sing up stand up" any ideas?

i also might have to use the castle instead of the badge depending on what hibs say to it.

I think it looks better with the castle. However, personally, I reckon you're better off with a proper stitched flag than a screenprint one.

If you are insisting on a screenprinted one by the way, then this one (http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x34/ukmatt71/flag-1.jpg) was produced by The-Flag-Makers.com (http://www.the-flag-makers.com/) and are apparently pretty reasonable.

Leaving the flags in the Stadium would be a good idea as long as they are safe in the stand.

I like OUR CITY, OUR TEAM, ONE DREAM - HIBERNIAN FC

The castle or a harp would work on a flag - makes it different the badge and I would imagine getting permission to use it may be hard.

Would be good if they were at away games as well though - can usually get two 16x8 flags in to a normal backpack so easy enough. Also a handy way of detracting attention from empty seats in our end when we go to Killie, Motherwell etc. Who's is the 'Sauzee - Le God' flag? Reckon that should make more of an appearance.

As regards the East Stand, I reckon it'd be great if the entire back/front wall of the stand was just a row of flags.

That is our flag. I will try and get it along more often, as long as there is a place to hang flags at the back of the new East.

it would be cool if the singing section was renamed as "Gate ...(gate number)" like the gate 13 ultras they have at Panathinaikos.

Haha, thats cracking :agree:

I've always liked the idea of the large telescopic flags, which is why I suggested having lockers in the concourse where supporters can leave flags, banners, poles etc. Not for 'run of the mill games' like Hamilton and Killie but for the huns, wee huns and lesser greens, they'd look the bollocks :agree:

BTW - What the european fans do for their block/stand is a home and away flag. Home one is generally alot bigger, stays up all season, away flag is a smaller version of the home flag, easier to carry, take away etc. If the banner is a good un I reckon you could get enough donations for 2. I'd happily throw in a few quid.

Got approval for using the hibs badge on the banner, this was my reply from fife...

Thanks for your email and request. Like you, I am keen to see as much colour and atmosphere at the Stadium, especially when it is completed next season.

I am happy to grant you approval for using the Hibernian crest and thank you for asking for that approval.

Some points to note regarding usage of such a flag would be to ensure that the flag is not displayed whilst the game is in progress, and to comply with Health and Safety regulations, the flag should be made of a fire ******ent material.

This is an obvious one, but I will make the point anyway, please avoid any messages or imagery that may offend. If any doubt, I’m happy to sense check anything you are planning.

Lastly, any surfing flag usage would also be required to comply with any instructions given by Club Officials, Stewards or Police Officers – you will appreciate that each match at Easter Road is different and we need to be flexible on a game to game basis.

Unfortunately the Club would not be able to contribute financially to your flag, but fair play for asking. Our funds are currently focused on investing in the team and building the new stand!

All the best, and don’t hesitate to give me a shout if you need any other info. Look forward to seeing you and the flag at Easter Road next season.

Thanks

could you get back in touch with fife and see if the club is willing to let us keep them up all season like Man United, dont mind doing it myself if your busy, but since you have already spoken to him it seems the best way.

Maybe we should start a poll on here and pick a few slogans and then start a donation im sure alot would contribute.

Top of list for me is: Christian Nade Hearts Striker Hibs Legend

I like it, what about...

Love the Hibees, still hate Mercer

i will do, was very shocked i got a reply so quickly. i will post up when i here back from him. Great idea to keep flags up all season, will encourage more to bring them along to ER.

yeah, what man united and im assuming other clubs do, is provide the hooks on the walls, and the fans are allowed to hang them up on the first day of the season and remove on the last, im not sure if its only the ones hanging on the back wall rather than the ones hanging over the tiers, but i can find out if needs be. in the stretford end they also have flags inside which give the inside color too, instead of a grey concrete box.

cant see us being allowed that as its offensive, maybe inside. Although He's Deed would be belting too

Suppose, not in terms of him being dead but just because of how he tried to ruin HFC, i suppose your right though it could come across as being offensive.

emailed to ask about having flags up for the season and also mentioned having storage spaces within the ground for them.

Should hopefully get a reply in the next day or two.

Yip, the club would never allow that, but what about a huge flag with HIBERNIAN THE TEAM THAT WOULDN'T DIE. They would know it was directed at them, but not offensive in any way. Christ we even had a video out with that heading.

Yep that is far more likely to be acceptable and isn't coming across as offensive.

Some of the ideas in this thread are cracking!! Also congratulations on being allowed to use the club crest as well .

If the feedback on this thread is anything to go by then I'd suggest 2 flags if donations allow so.

A flag that represents our unity, i.e. like your first idea that would display the clubs crest, and also another flag that has a bit more of a tongue and cheek vibe.

Keep up the good work guys.

:notworthy:

p.s. The poll on slogans is a great idea.

Cheers to everyone for getting this on its way more, Great ideas...

I could have had one made with what i liked, But one that all supporters would like is more important imo.

If there was to be enough donations (could start a count of how much people would donate to see a rough figure) Then we could get a Home section flag & another one for away days... Or one that could go up for all home games such as The club that wouldnt die which would be outstanding imo. And take the Home Singing section banner to away games instead of 2 seperate.

also recieved an email from fife again about storage...

Given the configuration of a single tier in the East I am struggling to see where they could be sited permanently. Also storage in the East will be of limited availability given we are not filling in the floors as yet. That said, I have asked Stadium ops team to come back to me with any solutions that we can facilitate and will advise.

Thanks
Fife

Even just a small area for everyone to chuck their flags in ect would be good enough. Highly doubt someone would nick them. By that email response cant really see us beeing able to keep them up...

Whats everyones favourite slogan? Just to see what ones to stick in a poll...?

Quick five minute **** about... I like the idea of tall long flags, possibly on those flexible poles you see at festivals and in The Kop - if we can get 'em cleared.

That would look bloody brilliant minus the maroon.:top marks

Hmmm i was meaning on the back wall at the back, but how much will this be seen by others in the west, east and esp the south??

It's meant to be brown, haha. Then again Maroon is the colour of a bloodied turd anyway. It'd probably be best changed to black, could some bold flames at the bottom too given some time with Adobe Illustrator. :agree:

Those are brill, liking the first of the two the most.

I'd love to see loads of new flags in the East next year, add a load of colour to the ground and maybe get some balloons and streamers on the go. Shame about not being able to spark up a few flares!

I don't like the Nade one. It should be a hibs flag not an 'anti ex Hearts player' flag imho.

Just to let you know that Fife asked the campaign to collate questions at the meetup 2 weeks today.

Elaine Morrisorison is to be our sole as point of contact.

This was to avoid lots of us asking the same questions to the board. Elaine will be able to decide who the correct club manager is to ask the question to and come back with a coordinated response

:top marks Fair play to you for getting in about it but Fife has asked us if any further questions can come via the group

The storage of flags was one of the first to appear on the list.

You have a pm mate - gie's a reply
