Stole this :greengrin from the bounce website, looks like news on the new kits for next season.

I hear the new home kit is very plain and traditional from Puma. Sounds good to me http://www.hibeesbounce.com/forum/images/smilies/kos.gif

The away is excellent in my view with the modern Mint look.

The 3rd is a yellow version of sorts like a certain Spanish teams. Sounds brilliant.

From a v good source.

A certain Espanyol away top..................... Thoughts?....

The early 70's shirt was one of the best ever so if they go back to that I reckon it'll be a top seller

Because it's yellow version "LIKE" a Spanish team, not a yellow version "OF" a Spanish team.

At least Puma/Hibs are honest this season and bringing out a third kit. Instead of cobbling together a golies shirt and calling it a
third kit.

Does beg the question, why we didn't just bring out a yellow kit as an away shirt and just not bother with the mint one.

Still think if the mint kit had black shorts it would never clash with the tims, thus again no need for a third kit.

I think we all know the answer to that one!!! A bit off topic but where the hell did the purple come from in the first place?!!? I remember that first purple away top coming out a few yrs back and thinking...PURPLE?!?!?! Wonder if well go bk to purple again? Its in our tartan now after all. Ive also jst realised that when you say purple as many times as I jst have that it becomes quite a funny word.

Is that really LCS fault? Surely Hibs had a lot of input into the kit when they were our sponsors, they would have been able to choose. Dont get me wrong, I really like our kits last season, but it was a bit stupid making it close to the Celtic strip, the only team we should need it for.

As for the 3rd strip, you need 3 kits for playing in Europe.

IIRC Purple was used as a change strip in the 60s and of course as the famed TV Strip in 1979/80 (my first ever Hibs top). Perhaps other, more established posters will be able to shed some more light on this.

Did not know that you had to have three shirts for Europe. Is this a new rule? Only reason I thought we have had three kits is we keep bringing out White/Green away shirts that clash with Celtic.

I said it in a precious post, with black shorts, the mint shirt would not clash with the Tims.

Not sure tbh. I might be wrong but Im sure it is a rule. It makes sense though, you could easily come up against a team with say both of Hibs home and away colours in the home kit, and therefore a 3rd kit is needed (for example do one of the German teams not have a half white half green home top?).

Realisitically you shouldnt need to do that in your own leagues as you will more or less know who you will be playing and can design an away kit so it wont clash, which is why its annoying we havent been able to do so recently.

This was the time the harp was removed from over the old entrance. Hibs later (70s) used it as a change kit; remember one Euro game they played in purple with white sleeves.

We'd have been able to get away with using one of the previous season's strips as there wouldn't be any sponsorship issues, wouldn't we? (Could be wrong, I might have got my dates wrong when switching from Carlsberg to Whyte & Mackay).

Still think bringing out three strips for a new season is a bit excessive, but I suppose we haven't much choice if it's a European ruling. Plus I will still probably be daft enough to buy all three.

Defo had a yellow top out as well.

:agree:

Logic was as follows:

TV wouldn't allow Hibs to wear home top, which had sponsor's logo on (how times have changed) so they brought out the purple non-logo away top. However, that clashed with almost every other team as they mostly played in red or blue. Answer wasn't to simply have a non-logo green top but to bring out yet another top, in yellow, for games against Der Hun, Yams, Dundee, The Sheep, et al.

Yes, all those ones are kids sizes. I was born in 1970 so the shirts are in order of my size at the time. Not being a tall lad, the 80`s shirts are still quite small. Been some shrinkage I`m sure, as they have all been well worn and had a few visits through the washing machine.

I am pretty sure I used to have a purple bukta tracksuit that came out at same time as the legendary purple strip, sure there is a picture of it in the family archives somewhere!

I like the idea of the diagonal stripe, like the Espanyol away one. Possibly with a black and green diagonal. Possibly not just thick bands of colour, but lots of stripes or something. Or maybe white with black and green stripe. A mock up of that would be ace.

Exactly, the second one is outstanding. Would buy that shirt in an instant. We can only hope Hibs have something similar in mind.

Thanks a lot for the mock ups

LH that's a nice top but maybe a purple closer to the purple / violet end of the spectrum? Maybe I am going colour blind but I see this as an awfully "blue" purple... :bitchy: or is it just the green edging makes the purple seem blue? Maybe I've just got the blues? :faf:
Keep up the good work, your mock ups are miles better than the crappy ones I came up with the other month :agree:

Cheers

The colours look different to me in Photoshop, so when I was making this, it looked more purple than blue, then when I upload them to here they change colour slightly... I see what you mean though. I'll try and sort it out for future mockups! :agree:

It probably goes without saying that none of these will ever be for sale...:greengrin[/QUOTE]

quite right pal, my collection started from the tops i had as a kid and grew from there. you'd be doing well to make me part with them.

thanks for showing the pics, amazing.

IIRC Purple was used as a change strip in the 60s and of course as the famed TV Strip in 1979/80 (my first ever Hibs top). Perhaps other, more established posters will be able to shed some more light on this.

Prince (has he reverted to this appelation?) was very fond of purple too but has no connection with Hibernian FC to the best of my knowledge.:greengrin

I think we first used purple as a second strip during the 72/3 season and we wore it in the away leg of our tie against Sporting.

Did not know that you had to have three shirts for Europe. Is this a new rule? Only reason I thought we have had three kits is we keep bringing out White/Green away shirts that clash with Celtic.

I said it in a precious post, with black shorts, the mint shirt would not clash with the Tims.

J

This rule has been about for a few years, but don't expect to see it worn much, Hibs will still wear the green top playing in europe if there is no clash, we brought out a 3rd kit and got put out of europe before the top was ever worn, thats why on some occasions we had a white top on last season instead of the red one.

Waiting to see how the home top looks before buying it over the away.

Anyone know if the Scotland top is out yet? Thanks.

Still don't know why they bothered with that big shadow badge in the middle. Has made a mockery of a pretty decent strip imo.

It looks like you left the iron on it for too long and the top melted.

Those are both amazing :top marks.

So annoying some of the pish we end up with when some class designs are made up on the messageboards.
