West Ham have just sacked Zola as manager. It's been coming for a while IMO.

Anyone taking on that job will be working with the spectre of that porn baron coming out and slating all in sundry to the press every so often.

Zola won't have difficulty getting another job - liked and respected by all the players - well, as far as I know - at West Ham, and still learning.

Hope these two sheisters get their come-uppance. They're stick-ons to ruin another great old club...:bitchy:

Totally agree the guy is much better than having to work with that joke management team. They really are quite repulsive. Saw an interview with Karren Brady and she was patting herself on the back with making so many million in savings and she was then reminded that this was almost solely down to job cuts. Fair enough that is her job but any sort of humility would have been good.

Wasn't given a lot of money and done well with the bunch of players he's got, and a nice guy aswell, he won't have any bother trying to find a new job.

Who have they ruined before?

Met him recently at a West Ham function and he was a true gentleman.

He should have been given another season.

Squad decimated by injuries, no money but I am sure all Chelsea fans will be glad he has left the club. They hated the fact that a one time hero was wearing the claret and Blue.

I am sure all the old names will be mentioned but I would like to see Bilic in charge. Young and clever manager with experience with Croatia.

Regarding the porn twin,,,they did a decent job of getting Birminham finances sorted and built a decent club,,,,

Likeable guy and one of the best players in Premiership history. Done not a bad job given the state of that club. Normally would feel sorry for him but he's better off away from that circus with its two freak ringleaders...

My point could have been better worded - what was meant was that yet another good old club will now be ruined by some sheisters ala Leeds/Cardiff with Ridsdale and Pompey with... well everyone really! I didn't mean they'd ruined a succession of previous clubs although there are, as I understand, some areas of possible dubiety with regards Birmingham's books. Certainly when the new owners took over they noted the finances were in a worse state than they had anticipated and IIRC some areas of the accounts are still being investigated...

Sad to see him go in a way as he seems like a genuine nice guy and appeared to be liked and respected by most of the players as was mentioned earlier BUT I dont think he was ready for a job of that size as his first management job. I know there was turmoil behind the scenes and bad injury problems (altho not as bad as previous seasons) but even with that I would expect a club of West Ham's size and the squad we have (with the likes of Green, Upson, Parker, Behrami, Diamanti, Cole as well as a few promising decent youngsters) to be higher up the league and not involved in a relegation battle. I wasn't desperate for Zola to go but I'm also not disappointed he's away.

I can't imagine that Eck's anything but relieved to be working for a new boss at Birmingham.

Brady's a perfect illustration of the principle that the female of the species is deadlier than the male - notice she made sure her own 'severance' from the club was well-cushioned.

One thing for certain - whoever suffers at West Ham, it won't be Sullivan or Brady.

My hearts bleeds for them. Lampard, Joe Cole, Terry (didn't play for WHU but East End boy from WHUFC family.

Hopefully Zola will have the last laugh on the two stroke merchants who are the ill-fitted custodians of West Ham.

It doesn't bring me any great joy to post this as The Hammers are my English team and I don't know how much truth if any there is in it as it has been taken from Football Rumours site, but, if true, some of the salaries are ridiculous!

Steve Clarke seems to have done alright for himself too as a no.2!

The wages they were paying were ridicolous, Dyer, Ashton, Ljunberg (at the time) Lucas Neil, Scott Parker and Boa Morte were taking out 400k a week in wages between them.

I think Avram Grant is a stick on for the job.

Sure I've seen at least some of these salaries mentioned previously, probably before the owners prior to wank1 and wank2 got involved. Might have been under the Icelandic lot - can't recall for sure who it was who owned them or managed them at the time.

There was one that stuck right out for me at the time - something like them having paid 4.5m fee for a player who would have been out of contract in six weeks [at the time] and they could have got him for **** all. Above posted jogged memory - it was young Mr LLundberg [or however you spell it!]

It was shades of Leeds and their £500 a month fishtanks!

Ashton I think they were probably equal measures unlucky about. Did they not get a payout from England as he was injured on Internation duty?

Absolute legend has just come out with tea's and coffee's for all the press sitting at his door. Pity all the troubles at west ham, reckon he'll get a job soon easily.

I've just seen him on Sky Sports News offering the reporter and the camera man cups of coffee outside his home.

I feel really sorry for him because he is clearly a really nice human being and I think the way he has been treated by the new owners at West Ham has been shameful.

I sincerely wish him all the best in whatever he chooses to do next.

As a West Ham fan this is a sad day. GZ is a lovely man and he has been treated unfairly by the owners. Hopefully we can find another manager ( Slaven Billic  ) and Zola will find another club, wish him all the best.

I wonder if it would be worth Hibs approaching Zola. I reckon he would be a very useful signing, maybe not as head tea lady but he would certainly be a good backup at least.
