I had found I'd ocassionally buy these when I was travelling somewhere, as something to read other than academic papers. I knew they had offers for joining up, so I thought I'd wait until a good one came along before subscribing.

I finally parted with 49 notes at the start of the week - subscription and bonuses all came through this morning, and what a great deal it was - included:

6 copies of the magazine,
the standard "Saltire" headcover,
6xSrixon ADD balls (very soft, good for links golf),
free golf insurance (covered up to £1 million),
Season ticket passes for the Scottish Senior Open (Fairmont, St Andrews),
Season ticket passes for the Gleneagles Championship tournament,
round of golf on The Carrick, Loch Lomond (worth £100).

Pretty sweet offer for £49!

do the individual golf courses not have insurance? if so why would you need personal insurance?
Gleneagles wasnt that good last year. hopefully this year we will get bigger named players turn up like the year before last

There are a lot of courses who now actually ASK you have your own insurance before allowing you on. This was certainly the case in the USA.

I'm sure the club aren't liable for lost property or injury caused to other golfers. It means if someone steals your clubs or you damage/lose them, you can claim it through your insurance.

Gleneagles SHOULD be better this year as it's the final competition on the European Tour where players can gain points towards their qualification for the Ryder Cup.

ah i see, yeah we should get a decent turn out this year. The one before the last ryder cup was pretty good, i follwed darren clarkes game after my shift. Amazing just watching these guys. Make it look so easy you wonder why you cant do it yourself. Although the PGA isnt the most difficult of courses
