The last round of contract talks with the club were held earlier this month and the offer of a new deal was made in person by Vladimir Romanov during the major shareholder's most recent visit to Edinburgh. According to a source, Romanov warned him that his career "could be over before he knew it".

But if he signed on again with Hearts, he could then move on to "bigger and greater things".

Knocks Romanov back and soon afterwards, just before a match, Fat Jim decides to strip him of the captaincy.

Nothing to see here. FJK is definitely his own man who makes his own decisions.

I would have him back at ER in a minute :agree: This is just another yam not re-signing then getting binned the same as Concalves, the captaincy issue is just another smokescreen from FJK.

FJK definitely has 100% control on team affairs.

The breakdown in contract talks with Romanov followed swiftly by the loss in captaincy is just pure coincidence.

FJK definitely did not jump from a sinking Kilmarnock ship and take the Hearts job knowing full well he'd be another puppet for Romanov but took it anyway for the cash before retirement.

And of course, FJK was JUST in a cubicle in Edinburgh when he got a phone call from Romanov

I'm glad, from what Hearts fans tell me and my opinion on him in derbies, he appears to raise his game against us.

Where does he stay I will go and pick him up and take him to ER. Just what our MF needs IMHO.

"Okay Mikey. Here's the deal. You will be the team captain but you will not, repeat not, start looking for other clubs at the merest sign of negative press or hassle from the boo-boys. Get the ball in midfield, go forward with a will and be a Hibee legend!"

The folk saying that they'd take him back seem to be forgetting his supposed role in the 'revolt'.

Stewart's a 'Billy Big Baws' who eventually causes unrest wherever he goes.

He wasn't involved in the 'revolt'.

He wasn't involved in the 'revolt'.

According to the Scotsman, he was.

Collins survived the dressing room revolt, but privately he was said to be disappointed that Petrie had agreed to the meeting in his absence. A number of the 'rebel' players paid the price for their disloyalty when they were sold to other clubs, notably Michael Stewart who eventually joined Hearts after being frozen out of Hibs' first team plans.

He just gave the other players the keys to his flat, and happened to "pop in for something he'd forgotten" then?
