Should be a cracker - cue a drab 0-0 draw...

I'm just about to place my bet the settle in front of the TV.

going for Ibrahimovic & Barca to win 4-2.

Barca won't want a pressure game of cat and mouse in the second leg.

What odds?

400/1 on BET365, also done same bet with Messi at 310/1.

Milan may well afford too much attention to him though.

Barcelona playing out a drab 0-0 draw? Can't see that.

It's always the same with these games though - they hype them up and hype them up to the point where it's difficult to live up to the hype.

Thankfully, it hasn't been the case here.

Inter are doing exactly what they need to, apart from one poor defensive moment - Barca are stroking the ball about well, but Inter are standing resolutely.

:agree: - much like Samuel Eto'o is on a par with big Amadou.

One could also argue the case for Lionel Messi almost being able to lace Alan O'Brien's boots....ALMOST...

Man.Utd v Chelsea games are a brilliant example of that.

Barcelona are obviously an excellent team but they concede too many goals IMO.

Yep - used to be the same with Chelsea and Liverpool, especially when they faced each other 2 years in a row in the Champions League!

Don't Barca have the single best defensive record in Europe right now?

Really? They seem to concede some careless goals against poorer teams when they are a few ahead.

Lyon aren't even the best defence in France - they're a close second behind Auxerre:

England - Man Utd - 27 goals
Scotland - Rangers - 22 goals
France - Auxerre - 24 goals
Germany - Bayern Munich - 28 goals
Italy - Inter Milan - 30 goals
Netherlands - Ajax - 19 goals
Spain - Barcelona - 19 goals

Can anyone remember that time just back in December when we had actually conceded the least goals in Britain, joint with Rangers and Leeds.:agree:

Wow - Inter have played well, so nothing away from them, but they have been on the receiving end of some very generous refereeing decisions!

3-1 - Milito Offside
Alves booked for diving inside the penalty area following a tackle by Sneijder - certain penalty!

I think his laughter was justified to be honest - fairly hilarious decision not to award the penalty! His reputation perhaps went before him though!

Suppose, but like you say i think players known for diving actually get punished sometimes even when they were genuinely fouled.

He wasn't worth the money plus Eto'o that they used to get him.

In that barca formation play they need someone small and quick like villa or eto'o that will run the channels and make space for messi and the left sided forward (pedro, henry)and also be a poacher tipe player that will always be there in the six yard box for that one chance and thats not ibrahimovic IMO.

Nah, they have Messi and Pedro to run the channels. What they need is someone to hold the ball upfront when they punt it forward. Nish would be a great signing for them.

Think guardiolas idea is the opposite. Zlatan will sit deeper and encourage one of the opposing CH's to step out and get tight when he collects the ball, giving messi henry and pedro room in behind and making it more difficult for defenders to sit deep for 90 mins.

for example - eto'o sits on last defenders shoulders - but when a cautious defence is overly deep eto'o struggles to find room and constantly runs into dead ends. zlatan is probably a reaction to this as defenders are stuck in 2 minds - step out and close him down, or hold position and let him turn??

I thought Barca played like Arsenal .... over elaborate and punchless.

Messi flattered to deceive and offered very little to to the game and as for Ibrahimovic he's never been a footballer in his life, a total pile of turd, he's so highly over rated it's laughable.

Inter worked well as a team and deserved their win and with a bit more luck and better finishing the tie could have been out of Barca's reach tonight. As it stands it's going to be a tough task for them to get through but if the real Barcelona turn up next week it's still not beyond them.

Should be interesting.

Yes but they are both cutting in onto there stroger foot so if ibra is standing there like a spare part with 3 defenders around him they they cannot shoot where as if villa or etoo make space for them to take a shot there is more chance they will score.

All IMO of corse but i just dont think barca are not the same team with ibra playing and are starting to relay or messi and xavi more, also does'nt help that iniesta has been poor this season.
