Cracking match just finished between Steve Davis and Mark King, with Davis edging it 9-10 after a great final frame.

After a dogged attempt by King to snooker Davis on the pink, he ended up potting the pink by mistake, whilst trying to leave Steve behind the black.

Amazing to see how much it still means to him after all these years!

I think Selby. Would like Higgins to win it though.

Dott leads Ebdon 7-2 and it resumes at 7pm, Gotta say tho i was mightly impressed with Dott :agree:..Potted everything and his safety was superb.

If only he could recapture the form he showed a few years ago when he won it, Seems to have one thing after another in his personal life,He's got the game alright.

Selby for me will win it, And to boot he's a really nice guy that plays with a smile.

I agree, he's got a great sense of humour too. Wouldn't grumble if he won it.

I fancy Neil Robertson to go far this year, he is a cracking player. Ding Junhai is looking ominous too, he fair hammered his opponent in the first round.

Higgins will be hard to beat though. Some say he is arguably best all rounder ever to play the game. The best players usually come to the fore when matches are played over many frames.

Looks like the final may be over shadowed with a news story about John Higgins "throwing" matches tomorrow

Not good, looks like he's bang to rights. Takes the gloss of Davis' win sadly.

I think that rag of a paper should hang their heads in shame.
Fair enough setting the Honeytrap but to break the story on the day of the world final is shocking IMO.
The two guys in the final are getting the shine taken off their achievment in reaching the final. Dott shares the same manager as Higgins FFS. Given Dotts recent past this will possibly affect him greatly during this final. Is the paper trying to knobble him and bet on the Aussie?
I know they do it to sell papers but they really are S.C.U.M.

Higgins excuse is quite laughable to be fair.

Really enjoy the tactical frames.

Had a rash in-play betting moment though, let's just say I'm praying that Robertson wins this frame!

You'll be a happy man then.

Robertson has got the rub of the green/roll of the balls more than one might consider to be decent so far.

Tension is clearly getting to the both, with the '85 final program to follow

Very much so, drinking money for the week sorted!

Can't see Dott coming back from three frames down, especially how time is progressing. What's the latest ever crucible finish?

What's the latest ever crucible finish?

In the 1985 final, Dennis Taylor beat Steve Davis 18–17 on the final ball of the final frame, in one of the most closely contested matches of all time. It finished at 00:19 but was superseded as the latest finish first by the 2006 final (00:52 BST), then the 2007 final (00:55 BST)

If Dott is to win then we could well go past that. Looks like it's Neil's to lose now though.

For me, although I'm a football man first and foremost, that is my all-time favourite sporting moment. IIRC, Taylor was never ahead until he actually dispensed with that final black.
Lookin forward to the documentary about it after the final finishes.

And yeh, while this is a bit of a slug-a-thon, Robertson can only throw it away. Bring on the Crucible jitters when the finishing line's in sight...

Never seen so many "easy" misses in a final before. Its the only thing thats making the final exciting, you just know they wont clear up when they get to the table

Would be a pretty intimidating experience playing darts with Pre-diet Fordham and Mark Henry for sure.

True, but maybe Mark Henry would just snap his cue playing Snooker considering he's the Worlds strongest man.

Good to see a new name on the trophy. Not a classic final but a splendid story. Well done the laddie Robertson. :cup:
