Does anyone play it? I just completed my coaching qualifications in the game as part of my on going coaching development and wondered if anyone played?

Hadnt really heard much about it before I started coaching but its a far harder than 5-asides and some of the best football players in the world have been champion winning players (Ronaldinho, Xavi, Messi, Iniesta and even Van der sar!).

Futsal is a great way to teach kids how the game should be played. keep the ball on the ground, pass it and express yourself.

Unfortunately for that reason it's unlikely to ever catch on in Scotland where the hoof it to the big man mentality rules in much of youth football.

Very much so. I am one of the "new" batch of Futsal coaches in England and it has only been on the EFA plan for 5 years, considering the world cup of futsal has been going since the 80's (the game being developed since the 1930's) it will take a while to catch on here despite its massive following elsewhere (Iran has 20,000 teams!) the fact that it is indoors using an area that most sports halls are is a bonus.

Different rules and techniques, some of which cannot be brought over to the full game but the main focus on pass-move-pass-move and the interchanging positions is very rewarding in the 11-a-side game. As I previously stated some of the best players of todays era are champions of the sport (Brazil and Spain are the only two world champions...)

Definately worth checking out for anyone who is interested.
