Wow. Touche - alarmingly, I've always spelled ridiculous with an "e".

Thank **** my PhD isn't in English or moral outrage!

:agree: but better than the 132.9p for diesel that my brother was charged on his way down to Manchester yesterday. Serves him right for filling up at a service station!

115.9 is the cheapest price in Scotland - another petrol protest imminent me thinks.

Walk, use public transport or use a more economic mode of transport such as scooter, bike or 1.0l car. Don't see the point in having a car in the city now (unless you have kids off course).

Always get my kill when people grumble about the price of a litre of petrol, but the same people won't bat an eyelid at paying £6 for a liter of beer from the pub (2 pints) :greengrin

There's a protest group been set up to boycott Shell and Esso ( I think) for a year. Happened in France and they apparently cut their prices quite a bit.

If I remember was the last protest/embargo when they put the prices up to around 90p a litre?

Just shows they can do whatever they please.

I think someone mentioned that the truckers etc can't do blockades anymore because of anti terrorism laws.

Here's a blog from petrolprices.com, e-mail sent to me just yesterday.

Petrol has hit an all time high of £1.20 a litre and I have done a blog about what I think is causing the price rises and where they might go next.
We need your opinions and I really want to hear about how the current prices are affecting your daily life, so if you have a moment to spare please add a comment to my blog here:
http://www.petrolprices.com/blog/petrol-hits-an-all-time-high-of-next-stop-121.html
On another note the press are always asking me for people who might be happy to be interviewed but I don't have anyones phone numbers so if you have a story to tell (about petrol) and would be happy to appear in the paper or on TV please let us know your phone number by replying to this email. If you are interested can you include some details about who you are and how you use your car as well please.
I have no doubt the price we are paying at the pumps is going to be a big election issue so I want to make sure the views of our members are well represented in the press but don't worry at all if you are not interested.
Best wishes,
Brendan
