Cracking effort, the Championship IMHO is the most competitive league in the country and a hard hard league to get out of. It's definitely not a given for the relegated teams.

they had one of the biggest wage budgets in the premiership, why would it be such a great success for them to run away with the coca cola ???

my first love is the Hibees, but due to Ian Porterfield being a friend way back I have a very soft spot for the macams, be nice to get the derby back on.

Well done the Newcastle:dummytit:

they had one of the biggest wage budgets in the premiership, why would it be such a great success for them to run away with the coca cola ???

Because most of the big earners are gone:confused:

Because they slashed the big earners from the team and were in a bit of a turmoil prior to the season starting mibbies?

They will be going into the Premiership with one of the smallest wage budgets (if not the smallest) so I'm guessing you'll be heaping the praise on them if they manage to stay up.

Their chairman made a lot of very big mistakes when in the top flight, hopefully he's realised them and won't do it again. The club needs stability and also paying proper wages for players who actually want to be at the club, not money grabbers like there was before. I hope he give Houghton the chance to show what he can do in the EPL but I have a feeling he's going to go back to Shearer, who talks the talk but as yet hasn't even walked the managerial course.

I'm not sure he will be there, if the word on the street is to be believed. That is both welcome and worrying .. "better the devil you know".

They will go into the EPL as stable as they have been for many years. Good team spirit, no big earners, and even players like Smith and Barton willing to take pay-cuts to stay.

They are a long way off being able to do anything in the EPL but they have a solid base now.

I hope he give Houghton the chance to show what he can do in the EPL but I have a feeling he's going to go back to Shearer, who talks the talk but as yet hasn't even walked the managerial course.

The fans have really taken to Houghton so I would be very very surprised if Shearer is even mentioned in conversation these days.

I have to say well done, i never thought for one minute they would come back up, but Houghton has done a great job there.

Fantastic to do it so convincingly given everything that come before.

Chris Hughton, no matter what happens from now on, deserves MASSIVE credit and thanks from everyone connected with the club.

A fantastic guy by all accounts, you could see how much it meant to him in his interview on SSN after the game.

Hope they go straight back down and keep going down. They remind me too much of the YAMs with their supporters attitude. Also why don't they wear jackets? It makes no sense. :greengrin :greengrin
